The morrowind title music seems too quiet, can you tell me how to use audacity to increase the volume of the track without ruining its quality?

I have done this before with flac files and it wasn't that hard. apparently you can also do this with .mp3s

A comparison video with two clips letting us hear the difference would be helpful. Otherwise, good mod. Deffo an install for my next playthrough.

      Agreed. That would be helpful.

I'm no audio expert by any means but you probably wont hear much without a decent pair of cans hooked up through a DAC anyway.
If you turn the volume up you might hear certain sections a little more clearly but it will be very minut unless you listen very closely or have a trained ear.

i have to disagree, even when im using my lower end gear the difference is huge with morrowinds music, its just so crazy compressed by default you don't even really need a fancy dac or amp or pair of phones to appreciate, but of course it does help.

Hi, nice mod, but in the cutscene music folder the file called 'mw_intro' actually plays the track 'Fate's Quickening' rather than the music from the intro cutscene called 'Introduction'. Just thought I should let you know but other than that great mod

This mod doesn't have a cutscene folder, and the file you're referring to is a video. Must be from a different mod. Have you installed anything that replaces video?

Cool mod! I put this together myself a couple of times. There are some fully uncompressed flac and wav versions of the soundtrack floating around, but I could never get default Morrowind.exe to play them, they seem to play okay with OpenMW though.

TBH the reprise sounds like a marvel movie remix a little bit. Don't recommend.

Just thought I'd throw it in as a fun extra. The UESP says Soule composed it as a warm-up for the Skyrim OST; to get him back in the TES mood. His style did get a bit more dramatic/blockbuster-esque going from Morrowind to Oblivion to Skyrim.

Haha, thank you for this. Of course, I have replaced the music in my game a long time ago.

However, I may have to apologize to the author of the other mod, because I have downloaded Adobe Media Encoder, which he said he used, and it really does make the cutoff at 16kHz, even at 320kbit. The difference to a 128kbit file seems to be that it is somewhat more "dense", for the lack of a better word. I have no idea if this means it is objectively better or worse, and I've since learned that you can't actually tell how good the quality of a piece of music is just by looking at the spectrograms.

In any case, I trust these are alright.

For the most part I can't tell much difference. On a couple tracks I can barely tell a difference.

But I have on-board sound and low-quality speakers. It might be more worthwhile for people with a better sound setup.

The original theme in my comparison sounds just slightly, and I mean slightly better, BUT it is better.

The track has what I'd call a fuller sound

    Thanks

Well, what kind of audio set up do you have?
