Good mod. Not exactly sold on the "I see you're a responsible one" - kinda feels like a gamey statement. We've just met, how do you know I'm responsible?
If you first hear the rumor, and then speak directly to Apelles Matius (without talking to some other guard), Matius will tell you he does not know anything about a transport to Mournhold, and you should rather speak to Apelles Matius instead (himself).
Talking to him again then triggers the correct response.
Looking at this mod in the construction set, it seems to re-implement the 'who's there?' bug present in the original game and tribunal expansion. Could we get a fix for this? This is a necessity mod for any tribunal playthrough of mine, but the bug can make games virtually unplayable. Otherwise, excellent work on this mod. Thank you!
I'll look into it - the mod doesn't touch that dialogue entry, but IIRC that's a particularly weird bug. I used to use "It's Me You Idiot" from here to address that bug, but I haven't found it necessary in my most recent playthrough.
I looked into it more, and this mod shouldn't cause that bug. The bug is present in Morrowind.esm, but Bloodmoon fixes it. The bug can be brought back from the dead by mods that don't require Bloodmoon accidentally editing that particular greeting in greeting1, thus overriding Bloodmoon's fix. But this mod doesn't touch that greeting.
If you open the mod in the CS without Bloodmoon, you won't see the fix because Bloodmoon is absent.
Very excited about this mod, especially since it now effectively incorporates Quarantined Vvardenfell (I know it's only the idea that is incorporated, but still; I actually quite like this mod's dialogue over QV!).
I would love to test this out before fully commiting to it, but I'm having trouble triggering the chain of events that leads me to being able to ask to travel to Mournhold. I've tried talking to a few Savants to no avail. Any tips?
Try the Argonian in the East Empire Company Offices in Ebonheart. That's who I tested it with. If other savants aren't saying it, that line might be too low on the latest rumors list. It might have to be tweaked a bit.
The rumor's easier to hear in 1.2. I didn't move it up the list, but I did give it to Rogues, Bards, Pilgrims and Shipmasters as well, so that should be a lot more NPCs the player can hear it from. There's a bard in Arrille's Tradehouse in Seyda Neen so you could hear it early. (It does have a disposition requirement of 30, so if they really don't like you, you won't hear it.)
Yes you can get there at level 1, fresh off the boat (the only requirement is to have heard the new rumor). Surviving if you start poking around in the sewers is another matter.
As far as sick people traveling to Mournhold is concerned, several pieces of dialogue mention them being concerned about the blight, but there are no actual checks in dialogue for it, so diseased or blighted characters would be able to travel anyway, even in vanilla.
Rane would have no way of knowing you have lycanthropy, and her behavior towards vampires is the same as in vanilla (She's a mage so she'd talk to a vampire, and the transport isn't a service so that would work too).
I wouldn't want to lock vampires (or werewolves) out of Mournhold, but I might add a refusal if you're sick, or at least blighted.
Does your mod edit the DBAttack Script? Im wondering if its compatible with DrunkenMudcrab's "DB attacks only once" (https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45167/) so that ideally you could be attacked once but while in Mourhold
No this mod doesn't touch that script at all. I'm not familiar with that mod, but it looks like it should be compatible (unless it mucks around with related dialogue, which it doesn't sound like it does).
Other than the script on Dandras Vules, the changes in this mod are exclusively to dialogue.

So can you travel to Mournhold at level 1?
EDIT: id suggest to disable travel to mournhold if you are diseased, or carry vampirism or lycantropy
