2021 Update: Lua is merged in engine, and a draft merge request is up for UI bindings in OpenMW! It might still be a long while before the APIs are robust enough to implement something like this, but we are inching there.
------------------ I'm sorry if I was not more clear with this. The "mod" was *never* meant to be something for everyday use. The code is buggy, unorganized, and unoptimized in many places. It was always just supposed to be a fun experiment in which I could use a UI that didn't suck and get familiar with the OpenMW engine. This was published on nexus so I could let other people experience it since I enjoyed it so much. I did not go into this with the expectation that it would be something I maintained. This is because OpenMW will change, and in some pretty significant ways. Maintaining a fork that makes so many changes would be incredibly difficult and time consuming, and ultimately it would become obsolete with the addition of LUA. This was always clear to me, but I realize I was not explicit in stating this, and for that i'm sorry for getting some of your hopes up. I have a MWSE-LUA version of this in development, but I don't believe I will be finished with it anytime soon. If and when it does release, that will be maintained and be meant for everyday use.
This looks like the best UI mod for Morrowind, it has everything I want to finally make the UI usable. It's really a shame that you're not considering supporting it further for OpenMW, ideally as a plugin and not a fork of OpenMW itself. The test version from November on Github is for OpenMW 0.49.0 RC1?
It's unfortunately much older then that right now. I kind of lost the time needed to make this into a Lua mod, but it's very close to being possible, the API has come a long way.
is there any way we could incentivize your work on that? because, honestly, as people already mentioned here, this is light years ahead of anything else available for Morrowind, it seems.
ok dont download, it works, but i only suggest this mod if you don't plan to add any other mods, the only way to work is to take the download folder and unzip and place all contents in OPENMORROWIND folder.... but you will not able to use other mods, course it uses (i belive) and older version of OpenMW, and in this version i tried to install other mods, but was not possible, you can try.
Of course - reading the description and sticky post (which everyone should do - the mod author took the time to write them afterall) makes it clear that this was an experiement - and not intended to be a permanent full game replacer version.
Still - what a beautiful experiment it is.
I hope that with the recent advances in OpenMW (especially the .49 builds) that we are getting close to having this in open mw - as while the morrowind story is incredible - the existing UI - well....let us just say we really need this mod!!! (um...can they merge your code into base?????).
Anyway ...congrats to the mod author of this fork - and here is hoping that a similar feature can either be built into OpenMW itself, or added via lua scripting in the future.
Why have such a great mod them make people slog through code and a 1000 different links to find it? most people in the comments are confused as to where the download link is, including me, can you not link directly to it instead of the main site with a million other links, I have never been on that site and have no idea how to navigate it. and every link takes you to another 1000 links, Sorry, I'm guessing you don't mod Morrowind anymore, but not everyone can brows the web like a pro. Just saying, a more direct link would be apricated.

It works for OpenMW 0.48 ???
it is a shame because is a great UI
USING GITLAB MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A CLOWN!!!!!
KNOCKING OTHER"S MODS MAKES YOU LOOK WORSE THAN A CLOWN
I eagerly await your skyui style fully compatible replacement.
Edit: I THINK this is the latest version: https://gitlab.com/glassmancody.info/openmw/-/jobs/1802904673/artifacts/download
Secondly - it is not a mod. it is a customized version of the OpenMW engine (known as a "fork" in programmer terms).
Sadly - we don't have a full working version of this - and may not for some time.
Hopefully this helps in understanding why this is not just a simple mod to install.
best of luck in your game.
