This mod is really hardcore. I love it. Actually this looks to me to be the best solution to the player being able to exploit merchants for unlimited gold.
By the way this mod should not be used with any version of Economy Adjuster Merchant Skills or any other mod that increases the mercantile skill of merchants. It was definitely created with the vanilla values in mind.
Is there any chance of an MCM option to disable features like investing in shops? I've actually been using version 1.0 because it's a lot simpler and doesn't include all those extra features (and even in 1.0 I comment out the lines that edit GMSTs).
Necrolesian, thank you for this post.I followed a great mod list recently and then spent 2 whole days stuck as a hobo running the streets of Balmora because it had done exactly what you said not to do....it used hardtrade AND economy adjuster adjustments together.LMAO I was wondering why I was so poor.
Gonna message mod list maker and give him your post.
this just work .-. I've been literally looking for a mod for 3 hours that solves my problem of "I'm selling the same sword I just bought for 120 coins to the same guy again for 600 coins" and this just works
I hesitated with playing with this mod since I thought the buy values were too extreme and dare I say unrealistic for my taste. But I'm slowly gaining gold and I like that I can't simply buy my way to the best equipment and all items I need from the get go.
I also much prefer how this mod doesn't mess with common sense: the issue with Harder Barter is that an item worth, say, 250 gold doesn't sell for the proportionate amount, so having it be worth twice the value a 125 gold item is worth doesn't mean it will sell for twice the gold, and that annoys me VERY much, and lead to ridiculous scenarios where selling items one at a time was much more convenient than selling them in bulk (this doesn't happen with HardTrade, thankfully).
Gameplaywise, what is more harsh for player Hard or harder?
Ok, checked this: well well well. With harderbarter I could get 2k from 17k item on some random Khajit trader, with hardtrade I could get... 9k. That makes a difference. However, it seems like the difference isn't good to scale, cause harderbarter make it espcially hard to sell a a-lot-valued items, and smaller - not so.
I think HardTrade makes for a harder game. However, Harder Barter makes for a more satisfying game. That's because Harder Barter makes gold obtaining from rewards and found in the game world retain their value. With HardTrade, the 200 gold you get from Caius as money for "expenses" is nearly useless.
Yes, youre right. But I was using Hard Trade for 5 minutes... and decided to switch to it from Harder Barter.
So for all people in future who will wonder: In HardTrade you will get A LOT more gold from trade, but you will also PAY a lot of gold for everything. It wasn't the same in Harder Barter as @Lucas9 said - there you could get little money for selling everything, while paying normal (kind of) prices to buy stuff. So I decided to go with HardTrade - it's better for me, more immerson like, to switch over and over for a lot of money, and not just slovly save money, no feeling progress. :) [Obvious: HardTrade is somewhat easier. But it push players to get stuff from dungeons, not ignore it.]
I guess you are really nice guy and your work took some time but... all your mods just distort all of the vanilla gameplay of morrowind. you pick one thing and decide arbitrarily that this is no good for players, you edit it to something weird. sorry boy i dont understand
Despite having the option for messages turned off the game continues to generate a popup for the trade formula every time I trade something. Same thing when I'm hit by a spell with 4nm magic.
Thanks. This was exactly the mod I was looking for. And I love the Gucci belt.
I have one comment. Maybe describe in the intro that GMSTs for bargaining and bribes have been changed and these changes override changes in .esp files. If this causes problems the users can edit main.lua and remove/edit those lines.

I don't see such a line in the code. Has it changed since you made this comment?
'For this mod, consider that all the mentioned perks are taken'
Does this mean from the beginning(game start) or just when you advance in mercantile skill?
Does it play well with mod added traders?

I wholeheartedly recommend HardTrade.
