Stuporstar's Swappable Texture Signposts

Designed to be the most moddable signpost replacer, these meshes utilize detail and decal textures so different wood, details, and text can be applied with a simple texture swap.

The metal-edged versions are considered Imperial, so their default text is in English, while the Dunmer signs are in Daedric. All Daedric or All English options are available in optional folders.

Installation
Choose your Signposts

1a Simple Signs
  • Match the original fenceposts, which use the wood_brown_posts texture, and have no detail maps.
  • The wood base texture is meant to match upscaled vanilla textures, based on Tx_wood_brown_posts_02.dds for sign_base_01.dds and tx_metal_strip_02.dds for sign_strip.dds.
  • ST_Signposts_Simple.esp alters no cells, just the signpost activators.

1b Environmental Signs
  • Has regional variety similarly to Signy Signposts, with ash, dirt (regular), and muck detail maps. It also has posts to match.
  • ST_Signposts_Environs.esp is a straight-up ID swap of Signy Signposts, cleaned up so it no longer alters original fenceposts.

2a All Daedric Text
  • Converts all signposts to daedric.

2b All English Text
  • Converts all signposts to English.

3 Tyddy Style Simple Signs

  • Simple Signs only, since Environmental signs have their own matching posts.
  • Use Tyddy's Tx_wood_brown_posts_02.dds and my own metal strip texture.

Resources (separate download)
Includes original psds and daedric font. The English text uses the font Ondine Regular, which was also used in Signy Signposts. I can't include it for licensing reasons, but a search for it should turn up any available downloads online.
Textures have been sized down from 2048 to 1024 wide before being saved as .dds, which some people may still find overkill but it's easier to downscale than upscale. They all have mipmaps, so performance should be fine unless you're on a toaster.

A detail texture is applied to the regular environmental sign version because the base wood has to be desaturated to work with the ash version. It's easier to make a base texture more colorful with a detail texture than less. If replacing it with your own textures, tweak the base for the ash version first.

A Tamriel Rebuilt Add-on is forthcoming sometime after Modathon.
