Is there a way to get this to work in OpenMW? I know one of the required mods "MGE XE" is not compatible with OpenMW but it appears MGE XE does very similar things to OpenMW. Would it be possible to make it work?

Can't find MWSE 2.1 Development Nightly Release anywhere unfortunately ☹️ . Would Nexus version suffice?

MGE XE now automatically includes the 2.1 Nightly Release.

OMG... What a wonderful mod. It took a while to figure out how to make this work without a hitch but OMG I love this mod so much that it has become my absolute must have.

    How to fix bugs
For the unfortunate souls that are having problems with this mod. It has difficulties to handle certain types of journals retextures and fonts/fonts sizes. If the font setting or journal types are making the letters too big (for the mod, not the eye) you will end up with a bug that cause the changes not show up right away. Instead you will have to click on the comment for your changes to show. This is annoying as well as killing majority of reasons why use this mod.

I fixed it by using the Journal and scroll BG replacement and placing it before this mod in load order.

    P.S.
Make sure you are running the MWSE 2.1 Development Nightly Release and when you install it run the MWSE-Update.exe just to be safe.

Would be cool if you add "clear whole page" button.

I was first excited by this mod but after using it for a while decided to ignore the whole journal instead; original is  awful and editing it is simply too tedious and distracting from the gameplay.

Also, if i edit an entry more than once, when i flip through the pages back and forth  it shows the old edit half the time, instead of the latest one.

Plus i get frequent crashes while editing the journal, when otherwise I'm able to run a hundred or more mods without issue, not even counting texture replacers. For me it's sadly just not worth the hassle.

I haven't yet used this mod (still setting up my mods list) but it looks amazing, endorsement well gained sir. I am however curious if you can select and copy words...would be pretty cool to be able to 'write' my own book containing as much lore as possible for each playthrough and I guess retyping the books/notes I'll gain throughout the main quest would be a pain in the ass.

Hi, recently installed, and quite new at adding mods. However the files have made it into the MWSE mod folder.
I find I can't get the key strokes to work. The only input I can make to an open journal seems to be / opens writing into search. I have tried fiddling with key options a bit in the mod manager within the game menu, particularly the shift key (redoing shift+arrow and shift+enter as Lshift+... , just to make sure I've got a working shift)
I had one quest in my fresh character, and several pages in the character made before I installed the mod.
Any ideas where I could start looking?

So, I've accidentally started the "I'm NOT a necromancer" quest by asking Sharn gra-Muzgob about the "necromancers" topic while doing a main quest. My character is now a few in-game days after the conversation and I've just realised that I have this active quest in my journal. The issue I'm having with this is the fact that my PC is a warrior who isn't really fond of magic, so the necromancy questlog in my journal doesn't really fit in there. Since I'm very pedantic when it comes to the journal and also don't want to lose the progress I've made since the conversation, I was thinking if I could use your mod to "undo" it? For example, by setting the quest stage to 0 and then deleting the leftover entry from the journal? Or would it be better to complete the quest, so it won't be active anymore and just edit the related entries so they won't be odd-looking compared to the other entries in it? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: The second solution worked. The changes are now seamless but suit my PC way more. Thank you for this great mod!

Hey, I'm just gonna ask this question here so everyone can see it because I'm actually curious if I'm the only one having this problem - there's the thing, when I try to add a page it will change the number of pages on the bottom as if I added one but it doesn't technically add a page if that makes sense.
Plus I don't seem to be able to add any pictures no matter the keybind - at first I thought that would be because I installed the mod with MO2 but then I reinstalled it manually into the Data Folder and I still have the same problem. I am however able to edit the entries that already exist and successfully did so. (I get the overflow problem when I type too much on one page as well but adding pages should still work, am I right? Or - what's more important - adding pictures)
I'm still in Seyda Neen with this brand new character but I tried after having several pages of regular entries - still nothing appears when I try to add a page. I should add that I am also unable to add an image when I try to "paste" it on an entry I am currently editing.
Anybody else have this problem or am I being stupid and missing something? I actually think that I'm doing something wrong and just want to clarify that before I try to find out what could be causing incompatibilities.. I mean, this is probably the only MWSE mod I'm using as I just reinstalled the game.

My MWSE is up to date and MCP is set up as well. I don't have any other journal mods - at least I didn't install any knowingly lol

Hi, thanks for trying the mod and reporting your issues.

About adding pages, the mod doesn't support adding pages arbitrarily at the moment (although it may in the future).   What is supported is inserting up to one page between existing ones, with naming 1+ and 2- inserted between pages 1 and 2, etc.

Regarding images, first you will need to find book art in game.  Then you will need to insert a page between 2 existing ones.  Finally you will need to insert the book art image.

Sorry, it's not incredibly user friendly.  Hopefully that could be improved with future revision, with input from users like you.  Hopefully you are able to get it working satisfactorily in the short term.  Feel free to PM me if you consider to have trouble.

PM with screens sent! And no worries, as I said it's probably me being dumb and your mod is already a great improvement compared to the MWE Journal (I think it was called) I used a few years ago. I'm just happy there is an up to date journal mod that takes care of such things because imo that's a must have for roleplaying, immersion etc
