Seems like something like this was needed for a long time! I was really happy about this mod at first, but I had to disable it again because I think the new stats aren't balanced well.
The default Iron Warhammer has Chop 1-28, Slash 1-24 and Thrust 1-2, which makes it far worse than the Silver Staff, and both are available right at the start at Arrile's Tradehouse and cost around the same - only the Warhammer is much heavier and takes much more fatigue to swing, and won't damage enemies immune to normal weapons.
I actually rolled an unarmored Mage with Blunt Weapon as the only combat skill, and I was one-hitting Cliffracers with the Silver Staff at less than 40 Strength, but they took at least 2 full hits from a Warhammer, which hits slower and usually depletes your Fatigue during a fight.

I only tested Staves, but they seem to obsolete all the other blunt weapons completely and have outright amazing stats. The halberds seem like they do insane damage as well, with the Glass Halberd outdoing Chrysamere.

Cool mod idea, but it really messes with the balance. Not sure how to else to do it, maybe by having staves have higher base damage but far lower max damage, less weight, and higher durability compared to warhammers. And perhaps tweaking the range, both Staff and Warhammer had a 9ft range for me, but perhaps that's fine (seems more like the Warhammer has too far of a range already, but that's not really the subject of this mod)

for staffs i took warhammer damage values and slightly reduced the max hit while increasing the minimum damage

yeah staffs attack faster but it doesnt really make that much of a difference i feel

also obviously a silver staff would be better than an iron warhammer because silver is a higher tier than iron

as for the halberds theyre all pretty much just exactly 2 handed axe stats, except the glass halberd i moved up a tier in damage because there is no daedric halberd without other mods, so i gave the glass halberd daedric battle axe damage values so that you wouldnt feel obligated to use a daedric spear rather than a glass halberd if you prefer halberds

you tend to start finding glass and daedric weapons around the same time so i felt it wouldnt really make any differenc

also i didnt mess with range of weapons at all because range doesnt really matter too much as you usually just end up with your face buried in whatever youre fighting anyways

this mod may slightly step out of the bounds of morrowind balance, but morrowind isnt balanced anyways and it definitely wont break the game
