Would any modder be capable of rebuilding this mod for OpenMW? Or maybe just making a somethin akeen to compatibility patch for it to work with OpenMW?
OpenMW still lacks some of the functions employed by this mod, thus the use of MWSE. A bare bones mod could be made, but that requires rebuilding it around the gutted segments that were integral to the mod. Some section would need to be rewritten and other dropped completely - at that point, I'd rather just start from scratch.
It's actually a great mod, but still some issues there, the old mand wasn't wearing any armor at the end, there are some texture problems with ghosts and skeletons and some entries in journal never disappeared after finishing the questline, so the quest seems unfinished, overall all those “errors” are minimal, and this mod is certainly fun, although a bit confusing and hard for low level characters
This mod doesn't add coughing. It may be from Character Sound Overhaul, in which case it would be a bug with that mod, or from Ashfall, in which case you have the flu.
Is this supposed to be triggered by entering just any bookstore? I entered the one in Ald Ruhn and nothing happened. Didn't see any error messages when I started up to suggest that the mod didn't load properly
Review (04/02/2023)- Not a bad mod. For me it was worth it playing it once.
My issues:
Spoiler:
Show
- The mod starts with you entering a bookkeeper and getting a new book in your inventory. One issue is that you’re supposed to know you got the book in your inventory, otherwise you wouldn’t check it naturally. I think a prompt should happen: a dream after reaching a certain level of a book between your own stuff would be better than the current scenario of you not knowing about the book at all being in your inventory.
- It’s not clear either that you can use the book to get clues. I would make it known via the bookkeeper.
- I left a few screenshot with issues here:

- another thing I’ve found disappointing is that the isle gets inhabitated by npcs with no special dialogue and I even saw that there is a shack with a door not functioning (didn’t check the other stuff in the island because I noticed it was pretty generic stuff). I would actually cut that content. Actually, why is the shrine so far from the shack?
- I got the bug where the old man didn’t disappear after finding the third book. Also, in the final exchange he didn’t have his armor.
- the panopticon room where you are supposed to walk through walls is not that great, considering that you didn't hint the player of something similar in any other room. ;)
- I don’t know how you’re supposed to leave the apocripha if you don’t challenge the champion. Also, what is the God’s will in that case?
- note that you make a reference to Otaco, but I think it’s Ocato.
Thanks for the feedback. Please consider that this was done with a very short time frame with many moving parts. The burn out from it has lasted a long time.
Thank you for the mod. It looks amazing! How does the new inscribe skill compare to vanilla's ability to enchant paper? Are there any situations when you would use one and not the other?
The 2 are completely different: vanilla takes a sheet of paper and a soul gem that you enchant normally. Inscription makes you equip a special quill and activate a sheet of paper, you either fail or get a random scroll.
Since we've made this mod, a couple of newer mods came out that also use sheets of paper: Takes Notes and Writers of the Third Era. There might be an incompatibility there.

Please ensure Skills Module is installed and MWSE is completely up to date.

Hope this helps :)
[EDIT]
I tried equipping the quill and activating the paper but all that happened was a blank piece of paper opened up. Am I doing something wrong?
Outside of that though, this mod is great so far.
