MWSE-Lua mod by NullCascade

Part of the May Modathon Month

Ever think that it's a bit creepy that there are souls trapped just there, on your desk? Would it be even creepier if the souls spoke from beyond the grave? This mod makes them do just that!

Soul gems in the world, in the player's inventory, and that the player interacts with will play sounds, corresponding to the creature trapped inside of it. This includes creatures added by mods.

Requirements & Installation:
This mod uses the alpha and thus experimental and not necessarily stable 2.1-branch of MWSE, currently in development. By using this mod, you're basically asking to be a tester! If you encounter any issues please post a report, ideally on the MWSE bug tracker. You can download the latest nightly build from the link below.

This mod requires Morrowind Graphic Extender (MGE-XE) version 0.10.0. Older versions will not work with MWSE 2.0+! Additionally, it will require the latest nightly build of MWSE 2.1.

To install the mod, extract the archive into your Morrowind installation folder. There is no ESP to activate.

Features:
This mod causes soul gems to play the sounds of the creatures they hold.
  • Every time a soul gem is picked up, there's a 75% chance it makes a sound.
  • Every 30-90 seconds, there's a 50% chance that a soul gem in the player's inventory will make a sound.
  • Every 1-60 seconds, there's a 20% chance that a soul gem in the current cell will make a sound.
  • These timings and chances can be configured in a simple json file.
