It is a nice idea, but kind of pointless when you have to be so close to guards for them to react (really up in their face). Would it be possible to adjust the distance so they arrest you from a greater distance?
It already works for all races with the vanilla "Guard" class. You shouldn't have to worry about that.
Also, I'm not adding voices to the lines. I have no idea how to splice dialogue and I'm not even sure how good the vanilla voices would work as a source material. Plus, spliced dialogue obviously can sound bad and I don't want to burden the mod with poor voice acting. Besides, the mod is supposed to be simple. I guess I should relook at adding an "empty" Hello version of the mod.
I actually went on and added voices to your mod. I used the vanilla attack and thief alert (I used the ones that didn't mention that you're a thief) voices and they work pretty well. You should try it. This was probably my point when I said to make the hellos multiracial.
Perhaps something more RNG based, like Guards Search?
Ideally, instead of a 35% chance of detection, have it depend on the bounty: 10 equals 1%, 100 = 10%, 500 = 50%, and 1000 of course would equal 100% as usual.
Sorry, but I'm not including an RNG based system for arrests. I consider it outside the scope of such a simple mod and don't want to add a constantly running script in the background to decide the chances. I consider this mod to be a guaranteed arrest after you've hit the threshold. And I'm not seeing much value in an RNG system. This mod was made partially to resolve the cheesiness of guards not arresting wanted criminals passing them by in the streets. An RNG system would allow that cheese to potentially slip back in.
To make things short, I'm not carrying out your idea. Sorry. But feel free to make your own version with an RNG system.
I suppose I could just use the two mods together and see if that works -- definite arrest at 500 bounty, 35% chance for lesser crimes. Should go nicely with Regionally Known Criminals as well.
I've uploaded a new set of files for Insta Arrest, bringing a total of 6 versions. One is a bugfix for the "normal" Normal version (the added Hello was at the bottom of all the Hellos. Came from cleaning the mod in the Enchanted Editor). 3 others are 500 gold "instant arrest" thresholds of the "normal" versions. The other 2 are the unchanged Lite and Full versions of the "normal" versions. I hope this addresses some of the desires expressed here.
I tried a bit at getting empty Hello versions of all these versions, but the dialogue box seems to require a least one character. Making the dialogue boxes have no characters in EE seems to cause issues as well. I don't know how possible it is to have completely empty Hello versions of the mod.
Love this idea, gonna bookmark it for a future playthrough. This will make disguise mods even more useful now (providing they work together, of course.)
I would definitely consider a version that pushes the threshold to 500 - or even a hundred, now that I think about it. Anything less just seems like they're pushing for their monthly quota, lol
I'm not sure how well this would work together with disguise mods. Granted, I've never checked out any. As long as your bounty is managed right and/or any relevant greetings/Hellos are taken care of in your load order, maybe there's a chance they could work? I mostly made this with vanilla in mind, so I'm not sure how well this mod would work with things that overly change how vanilla works. But of course, there's nothing stopping someone from making a compatibility patch.
Nice! Although in my opinion it would be better if the "hello"s were empty, this way guards would just initiate dialogue like a normal forcegreeting, without extraneous messageboxes. Also, any particular reason you duplicated the original guard greetings? These should work as is if I understand correctly.
Nice suggestion on providing a version without any dialogue in the "Hello"s. Might provide an optional version that features that.
Also, I basically explained why I duplicated the "Alarmed" greetings. When guards using normal arrest dialogue "instantly arrest" you without something like the greetings I added, they'll use the "turned yourself in dialogue" (see the Lite version of the mod for what I mean). This means that they'll charge you less gold and the like. In my eyes, this is nonsensical and awkward as the guard is arresting you and should be punishing you fully, not letting you go off easier. Also, I don't think there's an easy way force an "Alarmed" state so the guards always use their "Alarmed" arrests when they "instantly arrest" you. Hence my easy workaround by just copying the vanilla guard "Alarmed" greetings and reconditioning them.

Now we just need to add Daggerfall's HALT to this...^^
I guess I'll change this to work on 500+ bounty instead of 1+. If all guards recognized me when I stole some scrib jelly that'd be awkward. If, on the other hand, I stole a full imperial armor, the guards would probably recognize me.
I understand what you mean about about guards "instantly arresting" you with just a 1 gold bounty. I considered a higher threshold, but for whatever reason didn't go with it. Definitely something to consider though.
I also considered including globals to allow people to set their own thresholds for when guards "instantly arrest" them and acknowledge a death warrant with a "Hello", but as far as I know, there's no easy way to check your crime level against a global with dialogue conditionals. Could consider other versions that allow that, but would have to be wary about the amount of versions getting to be too overboard.

An empty hello should be good too.
