I love this mod ... Was wondering if there could be a flute version added to main mod? Heck I would even settle for just standing around without an animation file ... I just love flutes, pan pipes ... But making any instrument play songs would be amazing not just lutes.
I am getting a CTD every time I play Mara's song (can't remember if that is the title). The other two songs I know are fine but if I try to play that one, as soon as my performance concludes, CTD. I did update my previous install mid-game though. Currently on the latest version.
Love this mod a lot, just have one issue: the music is way too quiet in relation to the main soundtrack. I have to crank my volume to max to really hear it, but once I’m finished the soundtrack blares and I have to turn volume back down. Otherwise, great mod!
omg this is an amazingly simple and perfect addition to my morrowind playthrough. I have one issue however. I am using openMW and weapon sheathing mod, https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46069?tab=description. It turns the lute upside down when sheathed. Is there a way to patch these two mods together so they play nice?
You're probably using Back Position Edit. I had the same problem, and removing BPE solved the issue for me. I believe the Lute is receiving the mesh edits since its a 2H Blunt Weapon.
Found a quick fix. https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49043 this mod flips weapon sheathing staves and spears the other way. It will make the lute string side against your back, which is weird, but still better than before. Hope this helps
This is a fantastic mod and adds so much to my role play depth. When I made my Nerevarine 16 whatever years ago, he carried a lute and I just pretended! Now all we need is a Lute-Hero minigame to polish it off.
That's a joke, and also just for fun, because I know I'm just shooting the breeze and have no expectations.
✨ Bardic Inspiration ~🦄~ D r e a m F e a t u r e s ✨ : - A bit more variation on dialogue when talking to Publicans about performing. (Only realistic item on this list.) - Toggle if Morrowind music stops when practicing outside, or just lowers. Can't say exactly why other than "Muh immersion." - Ability to choose which song you play when practicing outside. Have a "best song", be known for it. - Busking. Hard to pull off if low personality/performance skill. Could have guards tell you to stop, fine you if you don't. - Different levels/costs of lutes with unique meshes or textures, and lute cases! - Greet distance increased when playing outside, if context appropriate voice lines could be triggered. Probably means new lines. - Basic hand back-and-forth / up-down animation while playing. Just enough to be convincing. Hard to do I bet. - As your reputation grows, get gigs with other artists, percussionist, harpists etc., get more money coming in. - Set out a tip bowl which money can appear in, or drinks next to. - Get big, get approached by an agent who makes a tour across all of Vvardenfell!
Can't say thank you enough for making one of the best games ever significantly better with your imagination and work. So thank you.
I made a pure bard character for RP out of curiosity to play with this, and it went on rather well. The pays are balanced, skill works fine (maybe levels a bit too fast, however), and you can book a performance in more than one place. Overall very neat, and made me enjoy the character more than I expected.
I have some suggestions: Patrons might give more odd items on rare occasions: dwemer coins/dumacs, jewels, their phone number, forks of not-so-much horripilation, a human heart...; If a publican's disposition towards you is high enough after receiving your pay, they might give you some food and booze too; More tiers of lutes: although the skill and song learning gives some progression, tiered lutes which quality improves tips would be nice. Either on merchants leveled lists or quests from bards after learning all their songs, etc. Some could have unique models, higher enchant values or pre-set constant enchantments. Train your skill with other bards, and if your skill is high enough you could train them too (like Antares BigMod, but for the bard class since there is no bard's faction); Make it so that, if playing lute at the streets during midnight, guards might call out to you to stop playing, and NPCs might complain to you too.
Also, I have made my attempt on expanding the code on tips (timer and rewards), publican rewards and adding many more new messages (from 13 to 56, all lore friendly, some make reference to quests, iconic characters/creatures and faction member archetypes). As for the tips/rewards value: low luck and personality make considerable downsides, and high values give a good boost. This is to give an upper hand to specialized bards. Characters that are more focused on combat and magic will have lower rewards overall. Only new messages and calculation variables/steps were added, the lute, animation and etc was not changed.
I've uploaded my tweaks into this dropbox link, but I only uploaded the files I changed, so the original mod still needs to be downloaded. I've just proofed my edits: tips and rewards are working with the new calculation, and the messages are added just fine too. If you don't like something value or some message, I recommend editing it yourself.
Okay... Either I am completely missing something here, or there's no way to stop performing? I've tried three times now and had to load saves as my character played for six hours and showed no signs of ever stopping.
There's a known bug if you have a mod installed that adds other bards playing music in taverns, it blocks the event used to detect when you've stopped playing
Ah, so it's just the particular tavern I was in! Thank you! I was doing it in The Strider's Nest, which comes with musicians.
I thought it was really cool up until I realized it wouldn't stop. Sad I can't play in my favorite tavern, but I'm going to enjoy it elsewhere! Thanks again!
