If you agree to perform in several places on the same day (Balmora), then after the 2nd performance the entry in the log contains the name of the place where the first one was. After the 3rd performance the name of the 2nd place is in the log.
Not sure if bug, so I'm writing it here. There is one lute from Tamriel Data that isn't covered by the mod, and it's the rarely found golden lute (like the one displayed in Anvil Temple).
That's intentional. Making lutes playable involves replacing them with new weapon-type objects with new IDs. I don't want to do that with unique items as their IDs might be used in quests.
Updated my tweaks to the 3.1 version. You WILL need to install the original mod before. Wrye or MO2 is recommended for properly overwriting files, manual is not encouraged. Feedback is welcome!

Main changes: More tips messages, including some mentioning TD races such as Imga, Maormer, etc. I tried to keep it lore friendly and common-sense as possible. Includes code that considers personality and luck. Might add overall reputation too (including Skyrim/Cyrodiil) Adds harsh penalties for low luck and personality. Values above 100 are discarted. These tweaks are purely .lua edits, and thus are safe to install/unninstall at any time, including existing characters. No global variables added, .ESP and assets are unchanged.
I am currently working on a mod. I have a hard companion and I want him to be able to play songs in taverns for money. Can you help. Me with that. Can I use your mod as a basis.
I haven't yet tried the mod but playing a bard was something I had loved in Skyrim. Is it possible to add songs/musics? From what I remember, a similar mod in Skyrim lets us adds music files and customise for how long the the songs/musics play, to time the animation.
I made a pure bard character for RP out of curiosity to play with this, and it went on rather well. The pays are balanced, skill works fine (maybe levels a bit too fast, however), and you can book a performance in more than one place. Overall very neat, and made me enjoy the character more than I expected.
I have some suggestions: Patrons might give more odd items on rare occasions: dwemer coins/dumacs, jewels, their phone number, forks of not-so-much horripilation, a human heart...; If a publican's disposition towards you is high enough after receiving your pay, they might give you some food and booze too; More tiers of lutes: although the skill and song learning gives some progression, tiered lutes which quality improves tips would be nice. Either on merchants leveled lists or quests from bards after learning all their songs, etc. Some could have unique models, higher enchant values or pre-set constant enchantments. Train your skill with other bards, and if your skill is high enough you could train them too (like Antares BigMod, but for the bard class since there is no bard's faction); Make it so that, if playing lute at the streets during midnight, guards might call out to you to stop playing, and NPCs might complain to you too.
Also, I have made my attempt on expanding the code on tips (timer and rewards), publican rewards and adding many more new messages (from 13 to 56, all lore friendly, some make reference to quests, iconic characters/creatures and faction member archetypes). As for the tips/rewards value: low luck and personality make considerable downsides, and high values give a good boost. This is to give an upper hand to specialized bards. Characters that are more focused on combat and magic will have lower rewards overall. Only new messages and calculation variables/steps were added, the lute, animation and etc was not changed.
I've uploaded my tweaks into this dropbox link, but I only uploaded the files I changed, so the original mod still needs to be downloaded. I've just proofed my edits: tips and rewards are working with the new calculation, and the messages are added just fine too. If you don't like something value or some message, I recommend editing it yourself.
So, I really liked the sound of your tweaks but unfortunately your tweaked files break the current version of Bardic Inspiration. It seems your staticData.lua file is missing critical sections from the base mod and contains outdated dialogue info IDs. I've gone ahead and updated your tweaks so that they work with the latest version of BI (3.0.1.5)

You can't book performance anymore, the only anwser the publican gives is "thanks for playing"

Thanks for updating it! :)
