That's not exactly how it works. The way that I did it shrunk all sides towards the middle. I'm afraid doing it any other way, would mess up the mesh (at least any way I know how to).
I know, the thing is that to fix that I'd have to go in game and create a esp with all of the books re-positioned. The thing about such a mod, would be that it would be incredibly conflict heavy, and it wouldn't solve the issues with books added by mods. I didn't want to make an esp for it, unless there was enough interest in the mod. Though, I do make it, I will only be focusing on the vanilla game, as there are simply far too many mods out there for me to make patches for.
Truth be told, because personally I find the books not fitting right on the shelves to be far more annoying than floating books. Plus, now that this mod does exist, it is now possible for mods to be made compatible with it. If other people are interested in doing so. That all said, I know this isn't really for everyone, but it was something I wanted.

Giant books from vanilla were always annoying however floating books are like a thorn in my eye.
