Thanks for this, I prefer a vanilla style look for my game.
I do wish there was a hair mod that kinda did for hairs what mackom did for heads though, new quality models and textures that keep close to the vanilla style.
No problem, but why? i thank you for your contribution, which is highly appreciated. i'm still hoping that you finish your awesome work, making all vanilla hair meshes compatible with McKom's awesome head meshes.
P.s.: i cleaned up a few meshes from bogus nodes. Especially the bold ones because after deleting the ears there was nothing left. ^^
Ya, most people use hair mods and those are definitly not bad by any means, but i just got back to playing Morrowind and want my experience to be as close to vanilla as possible so i can swell in memories of days long gone ... just with MGE XE, high res and bump mapped textures and less ugly bodies and faces.
Hence why i was amazed to find a mod like yours. Kudos for that.
Hey, that's good idea... Maybe when I finish the base hairs, I'll add some bump maps as optional (or maybe even Open MW -esque PBR....)
Really, though, vanilla are the best, and I'm glad to see someone want them. Even if the other hair replacers are great. Feels more genuine, I guess :3
Thank you so much for the compliment! I hope you'll get to see more :3
As much as i would like to see vanilla hair with better textures and maybe even bump maps, what i would like even more are the rest of the hair meshes after they went thru your 3d modelling program so they are without ears and clipping.
"Only" Blender you say. i was trying to use it and couldn't make heads or tails of anything i saw there and online tutorials didn't seem to expect a complete noob so those sounded like science to me rendering them unusable.
And believe me when i say that i know how tedious such stuff is. it's one of the reasons why i appreciate what you've done so far.
I'll be honest, it took me at least three months to pick Blender back up after I'd tried it initially. It took a while, and there's still lots to learn, but it takes time. Personally, I learned best by just toying with everything on my own until I got to a point where I needed to know some specific stuff, then I moved on to tutorials, but it's probably different for everyone.
I'm glad you appreciate it, and if you ever do decide to give blender another try, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. You can also join us at the MW Discord (I'm under the same username there) at: https://discord.me/mwmods
There's a lot of MW modders there, so even if I'm unable to help, it's highly likely someone else can. :3
i would like to say that i'll take you up on that offer, but i'm more of a coder and in the middle of learning Rust (the programming language, not the game ^^) so i can compare it to C, C++, MASM, FASM and ROASM in terms of time needed compared to overall performance. So ya, i prefer to leave things i know nothing about to people that do, so i can focus on things that are easier to understand for me.
Not to mention that rigging and skinning of meshes as well as understanding texture paths and poly layout would very likely take me years to understand. This stuff is really not for me.
Well, we've got coder's too, so you're still more than welcome to join (we've even recently got Hrnchamd, the MW Code Patch author) to join :3 (CS person here to represent, woot!)
And if you don't that's fine too :3
But seriously, though, rigging and skinning is bad, but animation is the worst >~<
i'll very likely take up our offer to join Discord, mainly because i need help understanding how to switch/add armor biped slots so i can turn some custom armors into real armors by making them use vanilla slots instead of the neck and ankle slot.
And Hrnchamd is definitly someone i would like to talk to. Simply because he seems to be a semi-god when it comes to disassembling code. Reversing was never a strong point of mine. -.-'

Anyway, thanks again for this.

And it's a "thank you", b/c nobody seems to like the vanilla hairs in MW anymore :'( So the "thank you" is partly intended for that
Will download again!

But you're right, they need to be done. Soon... soon...
