The optional plugin for Skyrim: Home of the Nords no longer is valid. The master it is searching for is Sky_Main.esp while the latest versions of Skyrim HotN is Sky_Main.
Update: After examining the .omwaddons for this mod and getting a second opinion it would seem that these were created as .esp files and then renamed to .omwaddon after they were completed. They do not contain any of the proper markers for .omwaddons, so they will likely not function in newer versions of OpenMW. And since the mod author is no longer supporting this mod, it should probably be avoided.
Additional update: After play testing, it seems to be hit and miss with all of the add ons. It might work with a smaller load order, but I have well over 500 plugins at this point and sometimes this works, sometimes not, depending on the npc.
At the time I did this I could find no other way of doing it, it WOULD be possible to use a player only script - but the function to make that work (getPlayerTarget I think) was only in the script extender and unavailable on OpenMW. This may have changed now, or you found another way entirely.
Either way - as I said on the main page, I am no longer modding (or playing) morrowind, so if you would like to improve it - you have my blessing and encouragement.
I really appreciate this mod/idea, thanks a lot! However, tried it in ClosedMW and it didn't work, after reading about scripting and fiddling a bit with the script myself I found some errors:
- apparently you need spaces around the arrow in player -> function_call - if you use ModPcCrimeLevel it should be sufficient to say ModPCCrimeLevel, + (40/1000), otherwise you would double the crimelevel and add 40/1000, or use SetPCCrimeLevel (GetPCCrimeLevel + 40/1000)
Note: I've nearly no clue about MW-Scripting, Idid some scripting inOblivion and know some general-out-of-game-programming, all I did was open the file in the editor and fix the errors that the CS told me about by looking up the functions, so far it seems to work with these fixes.
I've made the changes you suggested in version 0.4 (along with a patch for Skyrim Home of the Nords). Give it a try and let me know if it works in vanilla now.
I love the idea of this mod, I really do, but unfortunately there is a conflict with Morrowind Rebirth. I am on OpenMW and I downloaded and had the load order according to instructions in the description. The conflict is somehow impacting Silt Strider travel. When I take a silt strider to a number of destinations (Vivec, Ald'ruhn, Gnisis) I end up on top of walls, outside city walls, or on rooftops. No idea why.
I see there are no planned updates but if someone else is going to pick this up this would need to be addressed. Unless of course someone points out something stupid I am doing :) :)

I really hate to ask because it feels so basic but what exactly am I putting into the "data=" section of my openmw.cfg? Do I just link the path to the folder where all of the omwaddon files are or do I have to link to each one individually?

It's high impossible to preform backstab/throat slit. I had 60% chameleon, 67 agility 62 luck and 47 sneak skill. I attempted to slit/throat cut like 30 NPCs and all attempt failed. ///This mod is really hardcore - I managed to perform first throat slit. My character at that time had Agility 75 Luck 59 Sneak 44 Victim: Cienne Sintieve
The victim was breton trader inside Ald'ruhn manor district named Cienne Sintieve (you can steal from her dwemer metal scrap for one of the Thieves Guild quest given by that bosmer Jewel thief guild quest giver. I bet the skills and attributes of the NPC are thrown against Player's making this mod even harder to perform stealth kills/knockouts. I checked her stats in TES: Construction Set and she really does have low agility 39 and all her skills set to 6. Plus 50 points of Luck.
//Edit: Also get chameleon and short sword or dagger more chance for sneak kills. This mod grants you reliable sneak kills once you hit around 18 level area and have the minimum stats I listed.
