That was my thinking. The Hlaalu have all this money (and slave labor) and they don't bother to use any kind of molds to make their bricks? No paint? No stone decorations? Not even different colors of clay and dirt?
Yeah a lot of people want dirtier buildings, but to me that doesn't make sense. Balmora is far enough away from Red Mt. that it doesn't receive ash storms in game. As well, this isn't Fallout 3/NV. The buildings are going to be clean and nice looking bc people have been constantly living in and repairing these houses.
I think if we really wanted an immersive Balmora we'd make a bunch of similar textures & models that differ enough in cleanliness & aesthetic to diversify the architecture more. Hell, one could even put some Imperial-influenced architecture or some shacks in the outskirts and that would be more immersive than grey dull mud buildings.
Looks amazing, not too simple, not too colorful, not too overdone, just as it should be! One question though, which treemod are you using in screenshot 3? (assuming that is balmora)
I'm using Vality's Bitter Coast Balmora mod (changes Balmora's region to Bitter Coast and adds trees throughout town) with vurt's Bitter Coast tree replacer, I think the 2nd one.
These are definitely interesting. They're too bright and clean for me as other have said. i'd be very interested to if you did a worn out version of this. I may personally do it myself just to see what it looks like!
I'm not sure where I got the wooden pillar textures from. I used MGSO as a base, then installed many of Connary's textures over that, then I have a folder of miscellaneous other textures I like to use. Connary's textures can be found on the Morrowind Modding History site.

and forts as well
Thank you ~
I never considered doing forts, but now that you mention it I might take a look at them. Telvanni might be tricky.
