Why are most of the clothes wavy? Is this intentional?

Yes & No! My intention was to make it a HQ image there was some success to making it sharper with more detail but not really I only leave this one up because it seems popular even more so then its successor which is odd to me because I had little experience when I started these projects. look at watercolor Morrowind. I'm not even sure why that has a following but it does. So yes the clothes are wavy and the original is blurry make your pick.

Don't get me wrong, the mod does what it promises, it overhauls all the clothes textures. What I don't like though is that the vanilla style isn't really respected. Textures have been upscaled and filtered to make them bearable to see at a higher resolution. While this does work, the spirals are definitely not something you would see in vanilla. Thank you for sharing, anyways .

Thank's, it took hours and unfortunately refracting the image was the only way I was able to produce the HQ image and editing details of the shirts with multiple filter's thus all done with pain't.net only . It came out well I think I play on my 65' 3d TV and it still looks good to me. I have thought of redoing it actually to see if i can generate a texture from the original without messing up the style and maybe hiding the segments better making most of the pant's darker. I just made a 2k rock pack going to upload soon after I make sure i have no seams

There could be other filters that would make a better result, unfortunately I don't know Photoshop/PaintNET enough to help you :/. You'd have to try it out, I guess. The best solution is always to redo the texture from scratch, but it's also the hardest.

This is completed now and optimized. Perhaps some one would like to improve it

Just assuming you did not abandon this. Here are a few things to work on, essentially errors in the mod:
-because of the refraction filter you used on the clothes, parts of the textures bleed together and cause graphical glitches
-you forgot to generate mipmaps for the textures
-textures don't seem to be properly optimized. You can reduce file size and memory usage by compressing the textures
-since you just filtered the textures there isn't any added detail. Due to the nature of the filter you used, you actually reduced
the level of detail of the textures.

Is there a program that can do this for me? Or do I have to manually go into every individual file?

No. There's a program called "Optimizer Textures" over at the Skyrim Nexus. It also works for Oblivion and Morrowind. This will optimize the textures and generate mipmaps if none are available, but that's not a perfect solution

If you want to do it the right way, then use photoshop or gimp, but the mipmaps in gimp aren't optimal.

So I found a program that would convert them all with mips maps and also it decreased the clarity a tad I have not tested in game yet but I figured I give the people what they want lol

If you want to do it right, don't be lazy and just use that texture optimizer application. That's not useful for modders... that's for non-modders who download mods that need to be compressed because their video cards ran out of texture memory.

To do it right, for diffuse textures, you need to use nvidia's photoshop plugin so that you can properly adjust the mipmap gamma (use 0.4545) and use a scaling filter algorithm that doesn't suck (like Kaiser).

Maybe the gimp has something similar. I don't know because I don't use it since the UI makes me want to vomit.. which is pretty incredible given how long that app has taken flak for having a terrible UI.

If your textures are currently uncompressed (tga or uncompressed dds) then, of course, dds compression (dxt 1/3/5) will make your textures look worse to some extent. It's lossy compression. I didn't download your textures, so I don't know what format they're in. If they're currently compressed, and you just didn't generate mipmaps, I wouldn't bother unless you adjust the mipmap gamma and use the kaiser filter, since every game engine I've ever worked with (going back even to Unreal Engine 1.0 build 226) will auto-generate mipmaps for world diffuse textures that don't have them which will look equally good/bad as mipmaps generated with default filters and without mipmap gamma correction. I'd be surprised if Morrowind's engine didn't do the same.

I used dds converter 1.4 first I converted them to png using Sage thumbs then I converted them back to dds with mip maps and alpha for the robes i tested them in game and they look the same. Not sure why your telling me i'm lazy wtf I don't have time time open every signal one file and chage it for free lol.

I never had problems with it. What are those for exactly, is it necessary?

You deleted the previous comments ?
You know, critics are good if you want to evolve... And you don't have to take them as an offense, more as something that will allow you to do better in the future.
Also, asking for endorsements to be in the hot file ? Really ?
Improve your work and you will not have to ask for this...

It appears its a matter of taste, other people like them. This is why people keep the stuff they do for themselves to themselves. I just started making mods, I stated that. Has anybody else attempted to redo ALL the clothes in morrowind in HQ textures that use the same colors as the original? NO! I did not find a Giant picture, I uploaded so it could be viewed for preview only, not appropriate in the comments section, its my right to delete it. Darknut made his contribution and stopped, pyshcodog did the same and also hurdyGurdy thank's to them for the inspiration. Nobody want's to deal with critics, when this is the only version and will be the last. I stated this as well, I don't have time to improve this, so if you want to change it be my guest. Or make your own from scratch using the same color scheme, I challenge all who find the work to be unsatisfactory.

The textures look great! Thanks for sharing your work. The spiral patterns on the clothes fit the atmosphere of morrowind well, i think. Btw, in the description did you mean you got crashes when you installed this over better clothes, or do you just get crashes with better clothes by itself? I ask because i installed this over better clothes myself. Thanks again!
