The original is a maul not a war hammer. And the war hammer head should be slightly bigger than a 20-22 ounce framing hammer head not larger than a sledgehammer. The slightly larger than a framing hammer striking face along with the twice as long handle and double head weight will deliver more blunt force through armor than a sledgehammer would. Lighter so it can swing much faster and the smaller face means the energy is more concentrated in a much smaller point which is more damage to the squishy human bits inside the steel shell. Sledge sized and it swings much slower(less than half) so doesn't have as much energy and the larger face spreads the impact over a much wider area and gets absorbed more by the armor.
Mauls are only really good for bopping soldiers on the head when they are on ladders as they try to get over your walls or against peasant rebellions. A one on one fight against an armored opponent who is using anything else will be a bad idea, to get enough strength for a swing that would cause harm will tell them exactly what you are doing and where it will come from, combined with the slow swing speed they are easily avoided by even an amateur soldier.
This is sweet. Very super, and many thanks to you! :)))
Hey Reizeron, is it possible to keep the original model around as a distinct item though? It could be a neat looking worker's mallet, which is what it looked like to me. I mean, it's not so important, and would be asking for a lengthy project.
I do need to ask if you could tell me if this will conflict with hollaajith's Weapon Overhaul. https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42609/
Hello! >is it possible to keep the original model around as a distinct item though Well, if you back up the original model and attach it to a separate weapon - sure. It's outside the scope of this mod though. >if this will conflict with hollaajith's Weapon Overhaul There shouldn't be any problems.
Even though I don't personally use heavy weapons very often, many NPCs use them. So this is a very welcome change. It always irked me how the "iron warhammer" was nothing more than a chunk of wood with a bit of iron on it. Thank you, very much.

May I edit this to work with my Real Reflective Iron Weapons mod?
