Endorsed.  Ice caverns now much darker, and realistic with the higher res meshes.

Thanks for this. The glowing snow didn't really bother me, until I got to the quest cave where it was supposed to be dark - but was instead full of glowing snow.

This makes the ice caves look much better. Very well done!

When I first saw this, I thought the same as Psijonica, but now that you showed the second screen I gave it a try and it is really much better. Thanks for the fix!

Am I the only one who prefers the "Before Fix?"
    Is this really a 'Bug?"

In my last play through using mgso 3.0 I didn't really have a problem with this. Snow is white not grey. Dirty snow doesn't even look like that unless it has been on the street for a week and covered in dirt, pollution and exhaust from the cars.

Actually its not that its white, its bright. When I was doing the Penumbra quest, the floor was bright, not suitable for a 'dark' cave. Also, the snow looks like that because the light is dim inside caves. If you place that in an exterior, it looks fine.....

Ahh... ok, makes sense. So you are endorsing this mod then? If I saw your endorsement there I wouldn't even have questioned it. I have been following your expert advice for years, from GHF, Bethesda Official Forums to here and everywhere else in between

So If I would use a light spell the grey looking snow would be brighter then . Not as bright as the white it is now, but brighter than the grey?

EDIT: I wonder now if Caverns Overhaul by Lougian fixed this problem in my last play through... I'll have to ask Lougian to come look at this thread and give his 2 cents. It is possible that I didn't notice it because of this...

I don't think I have this problem, I'm not using the caverns textures provided by the MOSG but my Caverns Bump mapped, so users of my mod should'nt have this problem, I believe it's due to the glow map ? My mod doesn't use it, only bump map.

The cave is 'bright' because of a setting in the .nif. I forgot what. I corrected them myself, back when I was using MGSO. Also, the caves used to have a sort of glossy reflective effect like ice Actually it looked good. I don't know if this mod does the same, but based on screenshot, I'd say yes. I don't have those corrected meshes now.

That is exactly what I did. In the .nif files there was property of material which makes it glow. I set color to 0,0,0 , no textures or maps are changed and you can see difference. Before fix it was really too bright.

      PS Sorry for bad english.
