Though, I’m just asking in case of, never know, I’m just missing an easy solution ! Else, it’s not a big deal, and can be bypassed.
I tried reducing the transparent part, then modifying the model to the same size, seems like it could work, or at least greatly mitigate the issue ; But I’m stuck because ingame I end up with purple/black square flies. lol Is it maybe because of the ratio, because texture was divided by a 1/3, but I wasn’t able to downsize the model the same, per fraction, and so used 0.33… Any idea ?
Anyway, thanks much for the mod ! So nice I can easily get over that. And thanks also for your other mods too !
Well, if I really had to choose I’d make the same choice, indeed. But I kept it. It's not always happening, and even when it does show up, it's not that striking either. Though, I’m still pretty sure it could be mitigated somehow, but I just wasn’t able to myself ^^
For anyone who doesn't appreciate aquatic flies here's a fixed version of the mod by ProfArmitage (if I'm not mistaken) that was originally hosted on Sigourn's Morrowind Sharp Github but is no longer available.
*Edit. Apologies it is still available on Sigourn's Morrowind Sharp Github here.
Just as an FYI, Patch for Purists has incorporated a water level check into the fly sound script to keep it from happening underwater. Something similar would work with this mod.
short height, added to the other variables
At the start of the script: set height to GetPos Z
This is one of those little details that, once you experience it you will not want to unexperience it. Nicely done! With that said though, if I had one wish, just one, it would not be to cure world hunger, or cancer or war. It would be that every species of fly throughout every universe in existence would die all at once, including all eggs and larvae. I hate flies more than mosquitoes.
are we just not gonna mention June Bugs? Pesky stupid things get stuck on their backs until they starve and die until theres piles of them near every lightsource. their big and clunky and one might even say juicy, which doesnt help that they always FLY RIGHT AT YOU xD. Flies aint got nothin on my hatred for june bugs lol
I'd be interested in trying this. A quick question first: Since this has graphics for many (tiny) beasts at once, have you measured any noticeable FPS hit around flies? Thanks.
I love your mods. But you are guilty of a heinous, heinous, unforgivable sin, for which I will never forgive you. Never. Not even a little bit. Ok, maybe I'll forgive you, but only if you repent in bitter tears. Allow me to elucidate.
You name all your readmes "readme.txt." Yes, the unpardonable sin.
Have you any idea, dear Sir and/or Madam, how many lifetimes have been spent renaming your "readme.txt" files to other things so that they don't all overwrite each other? These lifetimes of innocent people, which most assuredly could have been spent on profitable things instead, such as playing Morrowind, have been utterly squandered in miserable fumblings of the keyboard.
It takes a great deal of creativity to invent a fitting name for a "readme.txt." Not all of those souls forced into the task have the requisite disposition or intellectual capacity to succeed here. I, for instance, renamed your readme to "FliesReadme.txt" for this particular mod. It lacks elegance. It lacks pizzaz. There is no magic, no je ne sais quoi. And I am sure that others have had similar difficulties as well. Doubtless they have settled for even less appealing renamings of these files. 'Tis chaos, I say, utter and irredeemable chaos!
You, dear Sir and/or Madam, have doomed humanity to chaos! Are you some evil dread overlord? Are you... *GASP* ...the Lord of the Flies?

I am on OpenMW.48, it works very well, just a slight issue sometimes with the SSAO post-process.
( There is a demonstration here in the Reddit post I made about it. )

Thanks for giving me a chuckle by the way, I really needed it just now.
