Seriously, you would've thought Bethesda could've just used another Dragon Break or somethin', and let you become a god in Vanilla. Ah well, you deserve kudos for creating, or at least sharing this genius mod.
The Dragon Break is an interesting concept. No matter what story line you assume is true, it always leads to the same results with regards to future events when it comes to future installations of the ES universe. There isn't much of a way around this unless they really did explore alternative timelines, which is never going to happen. The whole Skyrim civil war will become a big dragon break. regardless of which side is assumed to have won, the end results will be the same. Books will be written by different authors that claim that both the imperials AND stormcloaks won and there will be compelling argumentation for why both claims are true and both claims are false. It's like the whole universe is glitchy when it comes to events surrounding the elderscrolls themselves. The only thing that is true are the elder-scrolls themselves, but the universe pretty much erases the major events surrounding the elderscrolls prophecies by assuming that they all result in the same outcome. Once all is said and done, everyone living in the universe has to assume that either one side won or the other, that one chain of events happened or the other. I think that's the wrong way to look at it. It pretty much got erased by the universe itself, because those events were made irrelevant by dragon-breaking. All that matters is that those are the events that made the hero of each prophecy powerful enough to fulfill it, and to influence events after the prophecy. It's not that things didn't happen, it's that regardless of how they happened, all that matters is how it affected the hero of each prophecy. Effectively, each hero-player can design their own story, and describe in detail how they went about their adventure. Only the player knows the real events of what happened. and just to prevent even the hero from describing the real events of what happened, the hero usually goes off to a distant land (like the nerevarine), or Becomes a cheese lover (Champion). The only one I'm not sure about is the dragonborn, whatever happened to the dragonborn?
Perhaps to work around the contradiction, the ES universe deliberately has all of its prophecies fulfilled during other events that wont make a long term difference.
You're kind of already a god. The Nerevarine is ageless from corprus, can potentially have gained super strength from corprus, can brew insanely powerful potions, build and cast equally powerful spells, craft enchantments to further enhance their self and can manipulate the timeline (saving and loading). Using the heart is just the easy way to attain this.
It would be really cool in canon, the Nerevarine during their travels made good friends with Divayth Fyr and Yagrum Bagarn, and would send them dwemer documents regarding the heart of Lorkhan for translation. Having already achieved CHIM, and the translated documents the Nerevarine would have a real insight in the workings of Kagrenac's Tools and use the heart to first cut everyone else from it's powers, and gaining godhood themselves. Then, after the events of Tribunal, Nerevarine would return to Vivec, and cut him a deal: Either he helps Nerevarine to take power in Morrowind, give them control over the Tribunal Temple, and get a share in Heart's power, or Defy them, and get stabbed with Muat'ra for poetic justice. Vivek would obviously agree to the first thing, and proclaim Nerevarine as not only Hortator, but also the God-King of Morrowind, as in the meantime Helseth was assassinated by Dark Brotherhood, as the Nerevarine didn't actually kill their Listener under the Mournhold, but instead bribed them to kill the king instead. Then with Yagrum 's help, Nerevarine rebuilds the Akulakhan, and with it, they drive the Imperial occupants from Morrowind, as the prophecy fortold, and independent Morrowind is ruled by the Divine Triumvirate, Tribunal Reborn, consisting of The Nerevarine, Vivec and Sotha Sil, whom Nerevarine saved, when by using CHIM combined with their new God powers (and an Elder Scroll they got after the siege of Imperial City, during war with the Empire) they traveled back in time, gained entrance to Clockwork City, and warned Sotha Sil of Almalexia's plot.
It wasn't working for me, either. Don't know if this is way too late, but this is what the mod author said in a post on Reddit (type the first three lines as three separate console commands):
Player->additem _GodBlade 1 Player->additem _GodMortar 1 set isgod to 1
And then activate the shrine at the bottom of the lava pit.
I did this, and it worked for me. The problem is that, according to the author, the only script this mod changes is the Heart of Lorkhan script. I have a few mods installed, but the only massive mod I have is MGSO, and I'm not sure what in there could be affecting it. On top of that, the mod installed completely normally without asking to overwrite anything, so I've no clue why it's not working. Anyway, hope the above helps
It does not work for me. No I do not have any other mod that alters the main quest in any way. I saw a comment about console commands. I tried those but they didn't work for me either. Yes I did the correct order as listed in the comments. Does anyone know how to get it working? I was looking forward to this mod.
Personal opinion I must ask how becoming a deity would make one stronger physically or faster for that matter? I don't think it would and I highly doubt gaining divine power would suddenly make someone incredibly intelligent.
Is it possible to properly delete it? I want to be mortal again, it can't be deleted properly, it screwed my gcdlean, had to revert 10h of playing to destroying dagoth, because it breaks game.
You know what would be amazing? Is if doing this opened up a new quest line where Azura tells you that you have betrayed the prophecy. From that point on, any enemy the Nerevarine encounters will be under "Azura's protection", represented by a boost of stats that effectively makes them more powerful than the Nerevarine at any given moment. and then you have to battle humanoid representations of Azura more powerful than your god-like abilities everywhere you go. You are effectively cursed until you destroy the heart for good and severe your own connection to it. At this point Azura will hesitantly forgive you
