I'm surprised this isn't on the modding OpenMW site, this is a hidden gem... Once you get past the fps drops in some spots, it does exactly what I want. 10/10
Is there an in-game console command that removes the collision for a certain object permamently? In combination with "Dramatic Vivec" there is a tent which blocks a ramp but optically it would be nice to keep it.
It is, but there are some minor issues with the rope-railings getting in the way of some of the dock entrances. Thankfully, you can remove these in the CS, or in-game using the console.
This comment is what finally convinced me to give the Enchanted Editor a try. And you know what, It really was that simple! My Vivec is absolutely perfect now, thank you SpaceDevo for the tip and MaeseAtorrante for fixing this fabulous mod.
@H2714 Hi. Could you maybe share your fix of this mod?. I tried to use this mod with dramatic vivec and rebirth 5.0. And besides some teared apart landmasses around the entrance of the city there are also some misplaced object. I realize it is about a year now, but if you still have it and would like to share it, that would be awesome. Thank you.
I don't understand why everyone is claiming this mod comes at the cost of a horrible framerate drop. I've just started using it along with a slew of other mods and it seems no more fps heavy than any other town overhaul, and my rig isn't overly grand either. It was okay in 2013, but it's pretty dated now. i5-3330 and gtx640
its very heavy, even more so when it's coupled with other mods affecting the area. i get crashes every 5 seconds when i get to vivec if i load this and starfire's npc additions.
Yea, I noticed a significant FPS drop as well (from 30 to 10 on average), even w/o Starfires mod. Unfortunate, but oh well. That`s what I get for playing on a potato.
This mod is well known to lower FPS even on modern rigs. If you are running MGSO.3.0, starfire's npc additions and Emma's Chidren of Morrowind then the FPS can drop to 10 even if you have 16gb ram and a top notch video card.
If maseseatorrante only has an integrated card then he is limited with the mods he loads. His FPS must be down to 15-10 fps but he still can play there whereas if you have a set up that is at Ultra settings using every single hires texture replacer then you are going to take a big hit but it is still playable.
Darkelfguy did a review on the original mod where he spoke of this and he may have even created a video review.
Long story short; you are going to take a hit and it is normal with this mod. Most people think it is worth it. It is on Trainwiz's list of must have mods and that is good enough for me
EDIT: If you look at the pic that is uploaded his fps is at 11. LoL
Did you add anything into the mod's Description field so I could write some mlox rules to distinguish this mod from the original version and direct users of the original to this one?
My character was headed to Vivec to restock on supplies before raiding Hlormaren, when I came across this mod update. I've never played with it before because of many people's concerns with FPS. However, I'm here to say that you should ignore those comments and still give this mod a try. I just ran this on a fairly basic laptop with an internal graphic card and noticed little to no difference than usual when going about the city. My load order is about 240 mods long and I still managed to move around just fine. Only things I found were the occasional issue of getting stuck, and at one point was half-buried in a shack (that's what I get for climbing on people's roofs). But I believe those issues stem from the game engine, rather than the mod author. Either way, this mod is never leaving my list. It's atmospheric and makes perfect, logical use of the waterfront area as it should've been from the start. A quick glance at the concept art, and you know what I mean. What's truly amazing about this mod is the fact it was built solely on vanilla meshes, making it truly a innovative and creative sight.

I was also using Dramatic Vivec (which works almost perfectly with this), AOF Velothi and an ENbPalette
10/10 Would get stuck in somebody's roof again.
