This is an awesome player housing mod! I consider it crucial to find a long term home as early as possible. I hate moving in the game as much as I do in real life. Lol. It has every feature I want. It has a great back story and the belt is cool. I even keep the silver tableware that you steal from the Census office at the start for my home. I have explored thoroughly and and can't find the key or the amulet that transports you home. Could you please add a couple of pictures to the gallery with their location? P. S. I ended up living in the tower because I couldn't get into your apartment in Vivec. The console command was not cooperating with me.

It's been awhile, but IIRC the amulet is to the left of the door in the bedroom on a shelf. It looks like a "Heartwood" ingredient piece. The key is on one of the upper landings leading towards the trap door on the roof. You can also steal one from the guard barracks in the fort itself.

You should be able to find both/either with a 'Detect Key' spell.

Thanks for using my mod, glad you like it!

Found the amulet and key. I had to put Kolka in a stable because he can not come in to the tower.

Are you getting stuck with her following? Look next to the doors, I put teleport buttons nearby each one to facilitate movement in the tower cell proper because the spiral stairs are so narrow. The buttons will move you up or down to the next landing with a door.

      Thanks for using my mod!

Getting an error on the mod manager for openmw. Says it's missing texturefix2.0.esm. Not sure if it's another mod I have or that it's openmw. Figured I'd mention it.

Thank you very much for uploading the fix; I couldn't even use the mod before since I'm on OpenMW and I don't have the construction set to fix dependencies. I love this house, it's perfect for my Redguard swordswoman. And I got a good laugh when I used the Heartwood and realised I'd made a mistake lol.

Modders should create portable towers with no indoor cells. Some people like me like such buildings.

NON-LOAD VERSIONS OF SUCH BUILDING MODS WOULD BE DIVINELY PLEASING :)

Another great mod by Tizzo! This is a very nice PC home. It isn't huge or extravagant, but the features are very nice, well thought out, practical and useful, and you don't get too much. I just thoroughly tested this and everything worked great! The Alchemy sorter/desorter and the locking desk for security training worked perfectly. The interior companion friendly teleport buttons are a very nice touch. The Journal provides a nice backstory to connect the Belt with the original game. Oh, and that Belt! I liked watching my PC collapse in death if you don't take adequate precautions. :)

There are some nice items for the PC, but again, nothing over powered or super valuable. It took me a while to find the key inside the tower, but that is because I am using a key replacer mod and one of the downsides is that some keys end up being very small and they blend in, making some very hard to spot. I tested pretty much every item and they all worked without any problems. I also missed a few things the first time through because I didn't look carefully enough.

I was a little confused at first when Wrye Mash listed Texture Fix 2.0 as a dependency since I don't have that ESM file. However, clicking on the list of master files will just remove that as a dependency and you can save without any problems. That texture fix is mentioned here in the comments, but I don't know how it works with all of the changes from the STEP wiki so I haven't tried it yet.

This is a really great mod! People should also check out Tizzo's Useful Starting Spells mod! I was a bit skeptical of that mod at first, but now I absolutely love it for better and increased starting spell variety.

The following is a SPOILER. SPOILER ALERT! DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DON"T WANT A SPOILER!

I noticed that you can open the main entrance door by either picking it or using an Open spell and it doesn't count as a crime. You don't have to sneak and you can do it right in front of the guards. Which is a little strange since the key in Fort Pelagiad is owned and if you get caught taking it, it is a crime. I don't quite understand how crimes are set and determined. Some doors you can pick in broad daylight without any problems and others count as a crime. There is also an entrance through an unlocked, untrapped access.

Try this mod! You won't be sorry!

This is really a great house, I have spent a few hours exploring it, from trying to figure out how to get inside unnoticed to just wandering around reading the notes and books. It is so fun and appropriate, very well decorated. I also enjoyed the utter darkness as you climbed down into the nether regions, having to use a torch to light ones way, very eerie and unsettling, no idea what was lurking down below. I adored the backstory!

love this, thanks so much for it!

By popular demand, mod is now updated with brightened interior lighting.

Please note, portions of the stairs in the main tower spiral are meant to be dark.

The bedroom and workshop/storage/display areas should be much easier to see in now.

The guardhouse tower in Pelagiad has always been something of a useless interior in the past, there's nothing really important about it other than adding to the town's skyline. This mod aims to replace that rather useless interior with a proper home, and as far as I've seen does so amiably. The tower is now composed of two main rooms, in addition to the central spiral staircase and rooftop garden. There's a bedroom with a fairly cozy amount of detail, and a small lab with a decent amount of storage and display room, as well as an alchemy sorter for player convenience. A really nice touch is an included backstory to this old tower, giving it a bit of character and history that's always appreciated in a good house mod. Overall, this mod greatly improves the guard tower of Pelagiad, turning it into a proper player home with plenty of player convenience services such as a teleport amulet and alchemy sorter, and the file is completely clean to boot. This gets an endorsement in my book, well done!

As an additional note, I believe Pinkoid was referring to how dark the interior cells are. This may have been done deliberately in order to allow for the player to add light sources more to their liking, but overall the place could really use a few more torches or sconces to lighten it up a bit.

Also, I have to ask, why the terrain alteration to Pelagiad (0, -7)? This seems awfully unnecessary given that you're using a preexisting structure, and it will cause several dozen conflicts with other mods out there as a result.

Hello, and thanks for your review! I love feedback, it helps me make better mods.

Let me address a few things:

You are correct in your guess that the darkness of the interior is indeed deliberate. This is a stone tower with no windows, with the bulk of the space being underground. So I made the interior fairly dark, since virtually no exterior light can get in. It doesn't make sense, really, for it to be brightly lit.

Plus I wanted to encourage the use of candles and lamps by the player, to further encourage personalization of the space.

Regarding the terrain, the only change made to it was to save the mod with Texture Fix 2.0 loaded, then removing the dependency. This step was taken to prevent the exterior texture data in my mod from overwriting the data in Texture Fix.

The only other changes to the exterior were placing the planters for the garden and changing the doors to point to/from the new cell which contains the actual house.

      Thanks again for your review!

( P.S. For those of you who may have never used Texture Fix by Slartibartfast, the mod improves the blending of ground textures and removes those abrupt texture transitions you see from time to time as a result. Highly recommended mod! )

Great addon, love it so far; my only request would be for improved interior lighting.
