How is it possible to change the settings? Do i have to do it in the ini file or the esp itself? It isn't quite clear how to get there.

Edit: Ok it seems I have missed the note to go over the in-Game console, but anyways it doesn't work. I get an error message for every command written in the readme. For example set Smart_Crosshair_Mode to [3] doesn't work. Is there any solution for this?

new features of crosshair didn't work on OpenMW 0.45.0 release (third person, red color smart appear/dissapear). However in my modded install the crosshair was missing and with this mod it's back ¯\_(^~^)_/¯ So, anyways TY for that !

As far as I know OpenMW has an entirely different system in place for the crosshair and you can configure it in OpenMW. As far as I know you can just use the default OpenMW configuration options to get the effect your looking for.

Some of them are not evident though so perhaps you or someone else will like to know this:
If you like to get a custom target_ownership.dds (instead of a recoloring) to work with OpenMW you need to edit the HUD_Crosshair_Owned entry in the skin configuration file: openmw_hud_box.skin.xml
      Example: <Resource type="ResourceSkin" name="HUD_Crosshair_Owned" size="32 32" texture="textures\target_ownership.dds">

    Hi Adul,

Good to see a fellow Magyar.

If you have time could you updated this with the current version of MGEXE? Possibly with some options to adjust the crosshair a bit. Seems to be off center (well its technically in the center of the monitor but the position of where you get an activator is off.)

Also the captcha on your website no longer works. I tried leaving a comment there.

Faced the same problem. I understand that in the game engine, the choice of objects is obtained in the face of the character, not the camera. From the first person, everything is in order, but from the third, the crosshair actually on the screen no longer corresponds to the real one, which is located in front of the game character’s head model.

I think that this can hardly be fixed, what is called a restriction of the game engine.

I know I'm necroposting but in case anyone else is wondering about this, the crosshair is in the right place for aiming your weapon but is off for interacting with stuff (weapon sheathed). I think that's why he did it, couldn't have it both ways. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was swayed from trying the mod by this comment. It actually works really good. Just go first person when interacting with something small.

Thanks for the mod, love it! Finally I can play the game in third person :-)

However, I have one small issue with the mod, the crosshair in Thirdperson is slighty inaccurate, when looking at objects I have to look a little bit to the right of the object to be able to select/see it. Makes it hard to pick up small objects such as money. Is there a way to move the crosshair or something similar to compensate?

I am wondering the same thing. Works well and I like the autohide. But in 3rd person looting/fighting it is aimed slightly off. It is in the center of my screen but the character is adjusted differently in 3rd person. Might be a camera adjustment.

This didn't work for me at all. I mod often, so that's not the issue. It just has the vanilla crosshair, when enabled. After disabling, there's no crosshair at all, no matter what I do.

there are no hide crosshair settings in MGE. you just need to uncheck the option in the in-game settings
