I wish for a mod like this except instead of it all being in one chest, it'd randomly distribute the books across the world, replacing some of the old books. Too damn many Darkest Darknesses and Ngastas and Corpse Preparationses going around. Some variety.
Fantastic idea but the formatting of most books is a bit broken. The biggest issue is the lack of paragraphs. I'm slowly chewing through the books and correcting this. Maybe when I'm done the author would give me permission to share it.
Unfortunately I barely even started. I'm playing again so I'll be nibbling away at it. Doubtful that I'll have anything worth sharing for a year or more.
I like the idea, but books from Oblivion & Skyrim aren't lore friendly as most were written after Morrowind (Morrowind's 3e 427, Oblivion's 3e 433, and Skyrim's 4e 202). So I'm sorry to say that I'll have to pass.
only pre morrowind books are added to leveled lists (eso and daggerfall) post morrowind books are only in one chest in a dungeon guarded by a Hermeaus Mora sevant which I think it's a bit lore friendly since Hermeaus mora can see into the future.
I added a new version of the mod which includes darggerfall and battlespires unique books, redguard(well what could be read anyway),as far as mobile games only shadowkey has something of a unique book I included it as well.
YES, thank youuuuu! You didn't mention Arena, which makes me believe that there's no books from that game/I can't seem to find any of them in any of the wiki's for Arena, either, as my experience with that game is extremely limited since I only played it for a little while since the controls were a little weird/I'm still stuck in that infamous beginning dungeon, hahaha. So would I be correct in assuming that Arena had no books/no unique books that could be used for this mod?
Edit: Oh, I just thought of something. Since all of the books are in that one chest, maybe you could leave some note in the servant's body explaining how they got there, or did you already do that?
No problem, dude! I didn't find any Arena books on the imperial library or uesp wiki so probably there aren't any.
I didn't write a backstory as I'm not a writer so I thought to best leave it as a mystery to the player's immagination.
As far as I know Hermaeus Mora is suposed to be the daedric prince of fate and of the past and future. Now maybe he sent his servant with the chest to meet the nervarine to that tomb and those books were there to show him his fate. Or maybe a hermaeus mora worshiper was buried in that tomb and his reward for his service was those books. I dont know. I just didn't want to add the books to the levelled list as I thought that would break immersion having merchants sell you books from the future, oblivious to their content.
Very nice concept, as soon as I download I'll give an endorsement. Oh, have you thought about creating an Easter-egg kind of side quest that adds depth and story to the game? An example would be the quest from Skyrim for the Sanguine Rose.
Something like a skyrim quest is too complex for my modding skills.Maybe at best I could try something like a treasure hunt in which you go from clue to clue that points to the tomb. But right now I dont have any free time so maybe in a few weeks. Or perhaps you could try to make it yourself.
Yeah, books were a thing that Daggerfall came up with, as such every bit of lore in Arena (not as much as Daggerfall or Morrowind but more than you'd think at first glance) comes from dialogue. Things like Haven being built by Altmer, "Arenthia" in Valenwood being named after the Bosmer's first king, a rumor that someone in Valenwood had created a cure for Lycanthropy, Firsthold being the first elven city, Brotherhood of Seth taking over Gideon, Black Marsh, Arch Mage Shalidor constructing Labyrinthian (fun fact: The reason why the Arch Mage in Skyrim has access to the Labyrinthian is because you found it for the College of Winterhold in Arena), The Underking, etc etc.
Great job porting these books to Morrowind, I know some of the books I read in ESO were pretty interesting and it's nice to have access to them here. It would be nice if there was an optional version that placed these books in the random_book leveled lists, I know I always enjoyed the challenge of finding books out in the wild and collecting them, but I can always do that myself for a personal version so it's just an idea. I'm going to go ahead and endorse this mod, but there are two issues I need to point out. One is the presence of a single dirty reference, "bk_ABCs", but given the subject of the mod this may have been deliberate, I'm not sure. The second is the 72 GMSTs that currently contaminate the mod file, and really must be dealt with (they can cause all sorts of nasty things). I don't know if you cleaned this mod in an earlier version, but each time you update your mod you have to go through the whole tiresome cleaning process again, because the GMSTs get added in automatically. To clean your mod, you can use TESPCD, Enchanted Editor or tes3cmd, and you can use this tutorial for the first two and this wiki for the last one if you need help.
Thank you for pointing out to me the mod is unclean I haven't checked it because most modding tools don't like linux. Anyway I uploaded a new version and the mod should be clean now...hopefully. I hadn't planned on adding just the Eso and Daggerfall and earlier books to the leveled list. I don't particulary like leveled lists since you can make an item too rare or everywere. I will try to make an optional version but I'm going to be busy for the next couple of weeks so maybe later.
Mod looks completely clean, thanks for taking the time to take care of that!
Aye, there's a lot of random book leveled lists, it would probably take too long just to figure out which books should go in which leveled list, so I understand if you don't want to do it, and they can have a habit of making one book super common and others rare. But kudos for being open to the idea, and cleaning your mod! Not every author would take the time to do that!
Thanks!..If you want you have my permission to make a mod that adds the books to the leveled list.Right now I just don't have the time. Theoretically the first houndred books or so should be Oblivion and Skyrim....but that still leaves you with about 280 books. But I warn you....it might not be as fun as it sounds...
This must have been a considerable investment of your time, thank you for sharing! And I certainly appreciate the attempt to make it lore friendly as well. A servant of Hermaeus Mora as the guardian was a good choice! Does this really include every book from ESO? That's a lot of books!
Thanks ...it did take some time. I added only the unique books,no letters or notes, there might be some books that I could have missed, there are over 300 books after all. Certain books from eso appear a little different in Skyrim so I only added the most complete version not all versions. Plus certain books that have more volumes I put all the volumes in a single book.

Version 1.8 added 10 more books from eso morrowind.
There is also a mod called battlespire books http://mw.modhistory.com/download-44-7325 that adds as you probably guess battlespire books

You forgot to clean the mod :)
"Book rotate" version doesn't need to be patched by br utility, correct?
