It's definitely a mod you don't realise how much you've needed until you actually see the difference in the meshes! Finally, Dwemer architecture is smooth like it's supposed to be.
Works perfectly on an extremely heavily-modded OpenMW (0.47 / 0.48) install, with a bunch of other mesh & texture mods.
It's never frozen, there's still forward movement, less so on mesh and optimization improvements though, which is what i'm currently working on and thus why i'm checking this mod out.
But plenty of new content and gameplay modes are being added. Believe theres an entire star wars mod, theres VR and multiplayer, which can now work together with openMW, base MW has MWSE which has allowed Merlord to go absolutely wild. If you haven't seen ashfall yet, but honestly he's got a lot of good mods besides ashfall. Safebox added a Dwemer motorcycle
It's not going to make a huge difference, but you can reduce the polygon count on a few of the more complicated meshes, like furn_dwrv_dynamo00.nif, where you have long flat sides divided up into sections that could be merged. Similarly, the top and bottom panels of contain_dwrv_barrel00 and contain_dwrv_barrel10 could be simplified. For contain_dwrv_barrel00, you added banding in the middle that wasn't in the original that I don't think needs to be there. Was that intentional?
Some of the new models like the dynamo are pretty high poly (~7700), but only about 3x the original. If it looks like there are extra polys, that's probably because it was necessary to prevent the vertex paint from looking weird. I think the new models are all in the interior set anyway, there shouldn't be enough in any interior cell to affect framerate. Certainly not for a few extra polys like the barrels.

And does work with Morrowind Optimization Patch, and Morrowind Enhanced Textures (the upscale mod which looks better IMHO than the other).
I've come back and all the same mods are here.....its nice.
