I was searching for a way to make the helm I'm wearing "invisible". I came across this mod after a search. The idea of assigning to tail never occurred to me before. Great!
If you are comfortable working with TESCS or MWedit and do not want to change every helm as per this mods plugin, then create your own helm based on any of the existing models and assign it's position to tail and you now have your helm "invisible".
The mod did not work after I installed any armor re-texture overhaul mods.
It did work without those. However... this mod will hide the helm of *every* character in the game, NPCs and PC. If that doesn't bother you, this mod is useful.
It should be simple, load lafemarmour.esp in tes as active file - go to tab armor, click on slot column and scroll down till you see head, then doubleclick on every helmet and in dailogue change slot to tail. (simple for me, maybe you need some practice) an you should put edited esp file higher in load order in case to make it work.
tab armor..I have no idea what you are talking about. I put it in the data files and clicked the box in data files via Morrowind launcher. No tabs or anything.
Edit: I tried the construction set, which I have never used, and didn't see any head items
