It has been a while since the last time I completed the MW main quest, and it's been a while since I installed this mod, so much that I wasn't really expecting to see your mod. It was... magnificent. Really a perfect setting for the transformational moment in my character's story. I really can't endorse this mod enough, and I want to thank you for making that moment real.
I did have one quasi-bug report, though. When I entered the Cavern, I had some Constant Effect 'Detect Creature' + 'Detect Enchantment' enchantments on me. I expected it to mark the Failed Incarnates -- what I didn't expect was for 'Detect Creature' to mark the mini-map with 19 separate circles indicating that someone (man, mer, animal) was standing in the Cavern. (Let me know if you'd like me to upload a screenshot). I actually TLCed to look around in case I was missing anything, but no, it was just a glitch in the minimap and no apparent issues. It didn't seem to affect anything in how I interacted with the Failed Incarnates, but the blanketed minimap was definitely a distraction. I have no idea what caused it or why, let alone how to fix it, but I figured I'd let you know.
When I loaded it up in the CS, I got an error saying one NPC's armour doesn't exist. However, inspecting the file in the Enchanted editor shows that it relies on the Her Hands Indoril armour, which is a Tribunal asset. The mod should probably be updated to add Tribunal as a requirement. Running TESCMD also removed a redundant WGHT. Otherwise, very nice work :)
Not the meshes, no. MGE's fake bump-mapping ends up looking extremely shiny in OpenMW. However, until a mesh patch is made for real bump-maps, it should be perfectly safe to install everything except the statue/cavern meshes included in the mod's "i" folder (the only things bump-mapped according to the description).
It just occurred to me (after installing it...) that, since I don't use MGE, installing it is probably a bad idea. Is there an easy way to get rid of all the files without damaging anything?

No, you shouldn't as it doesn't change the exterior
