1. SHORT DESCRIPTION
===============
Alchemy Essentials contains five small alchemy mods. You can use them individually OR use the merged esp file.

IMPORTANT: If you do not have Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and Tamriel Rebuilt installed you will NEED to use the folder "Optional - Ingredient Retexture" to use most of these mods. Otherwise you will have yellow smiley icons and errors popping up when you use some of these files. These files are not set to be dependant on the expansions.

-----

Apparatus Retexture: retextures all of the alchemy equipment - Apprentice, Journeyman, Master, Grandmaster, and Secret Master. Has icons that match. No expansions required.

Essence Potions: adds the ability to brew your own standard potions as well as "essence potions", multiple-effect potions that are based around a particular ingredient.

Ingredient Trader: Includes a copy of all Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and Tamriel Rebuilt ingredients with weight adjustments only. Adds a trader in Ebonheart, Six Fishes that may have any non-unique ingredient for sale.

TR Essences and Effects: Includes a copy of all Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and Tamriel Rebuilt ingredients. Adjusts weights on mostly untouched ingredients. Adds new effects to several Tamriel Rebuilt ingredients. Also adds the ability to make Essence Potions from Tamriel Rebuilt ingredients. Must load after Ingredient Trader to be effective.

Optional - Ingredient Retexture: Retextures several of the ingredients from the expansions. No esp file required.

2. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
===============

Apparatus Retexture - new appearance and icons for alchemy apparatus. Pretty simple. This is the only file that doesn't require either the expansions or the "Optional - Ingredient Retexture" folder to be used.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Essence Potions

Adds Daedric Potion Brewers to Wolverine Hall in Sadrith Mora. You can also purchase your own portable ones from Tusmircil after you activate the Iron brewer once. They can make "essence potions," multiple effect potions that are based around a particular ingredient, such as daedra skin. There is a book that has all of the recipes needed to use the Potion Brewer. The Brewers make 3 potions at a time. Tusamircil owns the ones in Wolverine Hall - stealing them can get you expelled from the Mage's Guild. But he'll happily sell you some after you activate the Iron brewer once.

Iron (Alchemy 20+) - brews eight standard potions with the right ingredients.
Copper (Alchemy 40+) - brews the "easy" essence potions (comberry, corkbulb, fire salts, moon sugar, scuttle, and sweetpulp). Alchemy 75+ lets you brew the stronger version of each essence potion.
Silver (Alchemy 75+) - brews the "advanced" essence potions (daedra heart, daedra skin, diamond, emerald, frost salts, and void salts). Only comes in one strength.
Gold (Alchemy 90+) - brews the "exclusive" potions you can find in stores (Exclusive Restore Health, Restore Magicka, Invisibility, Fire Shield, Frost Shield, Lightning Shield, Spell Absorption, and Reflection).

Other things Essence Potions does:

- adds a few new trap doors in Wolverine Hall that make it easier to get around.
- last alchemy effect on rubies is lightning shield, ghoul hearts now also restore magicka, and the duplicate resist magicka effect on ash salts is now invisibility.
- assigns the ingredients sales chest in Wolverine Hall to Tusamircil. They were assigned to Skink-in-Tree's-Shade originally, but he doesn't sell ingredients so it was useless.
- adds a new vendor chest to Tusamircil. He'll have some random rare ingredients and a few essence potions he's made using the brewers.
- adds a copy of the book "On Essence Potions" to the shelf behind Tusamircil, which gives the ingredients list for each potion.
- adds a list that includes most standard potions and the essence potion to the random_loot_special list so they might be found randomly on rare occasions.
- adds a new vendor chest to Ajira and a copy of "On Essence Potions" to the Balmora Guild of Mages. Ajira has been studying :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ingredient Trader: Adds a trader to Ebonheart, Six Fishes who restocks some Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and Tamriel Rebuilt ingredient. She also has a random selection of ingredients from these places.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TR Essences and effects: This changes a couple of effects on the EXPANSION ingredients ONLY, almost entirely on Tamriel Rebuilt ingredients. It mostly just adds some effects to items that had less than 4 effects. You can also create "essence potions" using ingredients from the mainland. This is independant of the Essence Potions file and can be used without it. Load after Ingredient Trader.

Electrum (Alchemy 50+) - brews the "mainland" essence potions (alexandrite, amethyst, cephalapod shell, mummy heart, ornada meat, rock crystal, and sapphire). You can purchase your own electrum potion brewer after you activate the one that Tusamircil has in Wolverine Hall.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Optional - Ingredient Retexture": This contains game art for all the ingredients from Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and Tamriel Rebuilt. If you are missing one of these expansions, you'll need to install the files from this folder for the mods to work (Apparatus Retexture will still work withouth it). This includes retextured Tamriel Rebuilt ingredients (mostly the gems) and improved icons.

There's also an optional folder that has the first apparatus retextures I did, using the original Morrowind meshes. If you don't like the smoother meshes, or they don't run well on your computer, you can use these. The other optional folder has the smoother mortar & pestle replacer meshes that Ashiraniir made. I don't think they are available anywhere else yet, so if you just want smooth meshes without a retexture, use this folder (esp-less).

========================
3. Requirements / INSTALLING THE PLUGIN
========================
Requires Morrowind only. HOWEVER, you'll need all the expansions (including Tamriel Rebuilt) OR the files from the "Optional - Ingredient Retexture" folder for this to work correctly! You have been warned.

Copy the Icons, Meshes, and Textures into the appropriate folders. Put either the individual esps OR the merged esp into your Data Files directory.

If you'd like retextured expansion alchemy ingredients, or if you don't have Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and Tamriel Rebuilt installed:
open the "Optional - Ingredient Retexture" and copy those files into your Data Files directory.

=====================
4. PLAYING THE PLUGIN
=====================

From the Morrowind Launcher, go to Data Files. Activate the esp(s) you chose. Optionally, run TESTool (recommended if you use other mods that alter the leveled lists).

===============
5. SAVE GAMES
===============

Shouldn't affect save games. It does change some ingredient weights, so it might help to put down your alchemy ingredients before you uninstall this.

If you uninstall this and you still have some of the items added by this mod, you'll get a bunch of errors the first time you load. Just click through them, save the game, and when you load it should all be fine. You probably shouldn't uninstall it while under the effects of one of the new potions.

============================
6. CONFLICTS / KNOWN ERRORS
============================

Apparatus Retexture - assigns a new mesh and icon to the alchemy equipment. It won't overwrite the originals. The optional folder from Ashiraniir will overwrite the mortar&pestle meshes (esp-less).

Essence Potions - Might conflict with things that rearrange Wolverine Hall. Things that change ingredient effects (like Sri's Alchemy or BTB's Alchemy mod) might make the ingredient lists make less sense, but it will still work.

Ingredient Trader - Might conflict slightly with things that rearrange Ebonheart, Six Fishes.

TR Essences and Effects - Might overwrite other things that change the weights or ingredient effects on expansion ingredients.

"Optional - Ingredient Retexture" - replaces icons, meshes, and textures for the expansion ingredients. To uninstall you will need to delete/overwrite the meshes, not just the textures. Many of the texture paths have been changed.

7. CREDITS / PERMISSIONS RECEIVED
================================

Huge thanks to:

Tamriel Rebuilt team - original TR ingredients and artwork.

Ashiraniir - who made the mortar & pestles by request. She's awesome.

Armed Defender - who made the smoother alchemy meshes for the alembics and calcinators (used with permission).

EJ-12, Deathruler - smoother retorts from Better Items II. It's available here: http://tesall.ru/files/authors/ej-12/?page=2#better-items-ii but the site is in Russian. Hopefully I got the credits right! I'm not certain, but I think EJ-12 is also HedgeHog-12? Thanks also to Lord Alex for his translation help, and Elterin for pointing out the mod in the first place.

Gawain / Isabelle - meshes and textures from More Gems. Used in the following ingredients: aquamarine, bloodstone (retextured by Tealpanda), khajit eye, texture on the mummy heart, opal stone, star eye (retextured by Tealpanda), tektite, topaz, turqoise (retextured by Tealpanda).

Jericho - meshes and textures from his Soul Gem replacer found here http://fullrest.ru/files/morrowind/replacers/Better_Soul_Gem_2 (also available at PES) . Also, Lord Alex again for translation and Lokichan for packaging. Used in the following ingredients: amber, jet, and moonstone. If you're using this Soul Gem replacer you won't be confused about which things are ingredients and which are soul gems, because I retextured all the meshes.

NelothsMouth / Infectious Moon - mesh from Soul Gem Replacer Retex, used for rock crystal ingredient (retextured by tealpanda).

Qarl - who made the glass flask replacer mod that I based the icons on. Also made the pitcher mesh and textures that the new potions use. Glass texture also used on the rock crystal ingredient.

Unknown modder who made two bottle textures that I used as the base for some apparatus textures I made. Not sure where it came from, but thanks!

Thanks also to the creators of the GIMP, Nifskope, TGA thumbnail viewer program, and of course Bethesda.
