Hello everyone! Tamriel Rebuilt is pleased to announce the release of build 19.12 "Aanthirin".

In the last Old Ebonheart release, we showed you a glimpse of the lands that once Prophet Veloth himself has passed, who tamed its tumbling waters during his great exodus to the Sacred East; and now, we are presenting you the whole region. Venture through the rich soils and gently flowing waters of Aanthirin, the crossroads of Morrowind.

Please check our website for a proper release announcement and changelogs. If you want to play this new release using an old save, make sure to update your save file with Wrye Mash.

Also, make sure that you have updated Tamriel_Data to v7.

The 5 Most Commonly Asked Questions about Tamriel Rebuilt.

Hello everyone. Here are answers for the most common concerns brought up on this page; for other questions, we highly suggest reading our FAQ, Readme, or Handbook.

    When will it be finished?
We're a volunteer project, and developers come and go. Thus it's impossible to project any sort of release dates, and whenever we used to, we'd always be wrong. If you want to monitor our exact progress, please visit our forums. If you want it done faster, join us! We're always looking for new devs. Even if you don't know a thing about the CS. We'll help you get started.

I get lots of missing meshes/textures!
Please register both of your BSA files in your Morrowind.ini. You can find more instructions in our installation guide.

I'm getting errors regarding... missing Map1.esm/Map2.esm, TR_Data.esm, etc!
TR stopped releasing individual map files called "Map1" or "Map2" since 2012. The issue here is that old mods based on TR still have a dependency on those old files. TR also no longer uses "TR_Data.esm" since version 1609 (September 2016 release), and intead now uses Tamriel_Data. You can look for up-to-date versions of those mods, or try using the patcher found in Tamriel_Data to update them yourself (TR_FilePatcher.jar), or use Wyre Mash to clean the dependencies, or send a message to the mod author (if they're still active) to update their plugins.
... "One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on"!
This warning is given if your version of Tamriel_Data was released later than the last version of TR you have downloaded. The warning can be avoided by updating TR files in Wrye Mash, and is otherwise harmless.

Will this work with MGSO/graphical replacers?
Yes, but our custom assets will not be affected. In the future higher-resolution assets may be found in the HD version of Tamriel_Data.
There will be issues with mods that change the shape of vanilla assets, such as Taddeus' rock replacer (included in the MGSO compilation). Since the rock shapes are slightly altered, this may cause placement errors or blocked doors in our areas. There is currently no up-to-date patch for this rock replacer that will avoid issues in TR.

Will this be compatible with Mod X?
Since TR does not currently alter vanilla Morrowind, our project should be compatible with most, if not all, mods that do not occupy the space we use. Please consult our Readme file for a list of landmasses that conflict with TR and need to be moved. Also note that vanilla compatibility may decrease with additional plugins, as we eventually make changes to the vanilla questlines to integrate our landmass with that of the original game. These will be carefully thought out, and we hope to address the inevitable conflicts with mod authors themselves.

There is a less then 1% chance that this won't f*** up your game, unless you are desperate don't download this mod, its garbage. All the ways to install it cause major bugs (even when following the instructions) not worth your time.

    Hi,

I've been having a problem with the boatman in Seyda Neen; I approach Sentius Veros, and his only dialogue is "Who's There?". He does not discuss or offer travel. The only option is to say Goodbye, and further attempts to speak with him lowers his disposition. What could be causing this issue?

    Thanks so much.

Update: I was able to utilize his services by talking to him in the Overworld Seyda Neen cell, but not from the docks of the Census and Excise Office.

Finaly got around to exploring the mod and just finished the old ebonheart thiefs guild quests and a few others. It was a blast, had tons of fun, even if stealth gameplay is the weakest of the 3 in morrowind, loved the characters and the city. Thanks to the whole team for this amazing content!

Hi! Thank you and congratulations for this AWESOME and huge mod. Is a new game indeed.

This mod uses vanilla textures or bring some news? I understand that are the ingame textures right?

This game would look great with all those texture mods that exist in NEXUS

For a while when trying to create compatibility between TR and AOF Potions Recolor, I'd been noticing a particular potion (not one of the ones I'd been moving around) was flashing the good ol' yellow exclamation point: TR_M1_Q66_Ra2_rat_blood. Turns out there is a typo in the mesh file path. It's pointing to tr\m\tr_flas_llotham when it needs to point to tr\m\tr_flask_llotham. Was able to fix this on my end after extracting the necessary mesh from tr_data.bsa, putting the mesh in the necessary folder, and changing the file path in the CS. Worked like a charm, but there's prob'ly a more elegant solution to that little bit of annoyance out there. Prob'ly something with Enchanted Editor.

Q: When is Tamriel Rebuilt going to be complete?
A: Good question! The joke answer is 2090 and the optimistic answer is
2030. However, "it will be done when it's done" is unfortunately the
only true answer: attention and contributions to Tamriel Rebuilt vary,
developers come and go, and plans change. All of these factors make it
pretty hard if not impossible to predict when Tamriel Rebuilt will be
    officially "complete".

Assuming it's gonna be 2030, you'll still beat Bethesda releasing TES 6 ;)

Hello, I have a problem with distant Land generation in MGE XE, as soon as I activate Tamriel Rebuilt via Mod Organizer. With all packages activated I get seven texture loading errors because of missing object references, including one rock texture from tamriel_data.esm and a rock, sandstone and lavacrust in both tr_mainland.esm and tr_preview.esm.
I don't know what's wrong. The two .bsa files are registered correctly in the ini. Do I have to patch any files with the delivered filepatcher first? If so which are these?

As far as I know these warnings are harmless. There is also a fix here: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49008

Hi I was just playing through Khalaan during the quest near the malacath shrine. I wasn't able to open any of the chests despite having found quite a few keys. I was just wondering how many keys there were and how many chests there are? I just wanted to see if i've just been incredibly unlucky or there's an issue.

    Thanks for your time

YES! Thank you! To this day, I still scratch my head over just what the hell those lazy jackasses at Bethesda were thinking by letting us explore nothing but the smallest area of an entire country.

Julian Lafay's leaving of the company really, really shows even to this day.
