This mod is in .zip format.

New users. This requries a program called WinZip. You can download a free version at www.Winzip.com

Basically, this mod allows the player to fish in certain locations around the world. It also supplies the player with a boat.

Note on the multiple ESP files in the archive: MadMax made version 2.0 of this mod. These are the base files in the archive. Also included are two other ESPs by highpressure, who updated this mod: one for version 2.53 and one for version 2.54. You should only use one of the ESP files at a time (2.0 OR 2.53 OR 2.54).


Note: The new version does not apparently have a readme, so im using a previous readme from version 2.53 included with the mod:

1. INTRODUCTION
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fishing Academy has come to town. And guess what, they
setup their base in a small island off Vvardenfell. It is located
slightly west of Gnaar Mok. It is a bit unfortunate not to be able
to spend more game time at sea considering the vast ocean
available in the game. But, worry no more as this mod will give
you the ability to do so and more.

Features of the game are listed below.
- sail a boat along the coastline of Vvardenfell or wherever you
desire.
- fast travel from one location to another on your boat.
- fish tracking system that acts like a gps.
- realtime fishing.
- 14 types of fish available.
- your very own aquarium. ( you can keep your catch there )
- join a fishing competition.
- hunt down a great white shark.

Added functions

- Free Mode: Gives you PC the ability to walk around the top deck of the ship while it is sailing.

- Auto Mode: When this mode is selected the ship will return to the FA Island automatically in real-time. Your PC can walk around the top deck and even go below deck in this mode while the ship is sailing back to the Island.

- Using a fix by Aftershock,the use of mark/recall spells can now be used when using FA 2.53esp.

Available in v2.0.

2. GAME SUMMARY
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you first load this mod, your map will mark the location
of the island. It is slightly west of Gnaar Mok. There is a
boatman ( only in v2.0 ) in Gnaar Mok who will give you a lift
to the island for a fee. Once you are there, enter the Fishing
Academy Hall and ask to join the academy. You need to pass
two tests first. Follow the instruction. Once you are a member,
all the services are available to you. Also, on the lookout
for some exquisite items available in the game.

3. INSTALLATION
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This mod ver1.3.1029 requires TRIBUNAL installed although
you may not necessary need to load tribunal to play.

When you open up the zip file, you should see 57 files
including this readme file. ( approx. 4Mb )

To install the plugin, unzip the files into your main Morrowind
directory. Click "yes" when asked to overwrite existing files.

It is best to startoff in a clean savegame. Especially for those
who already has v1.2 installed. Please report back to me if
you encounter any doubling issue.

4. FISHING BOAT MANUAL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VERY IMPORTANT - For this to work, you need to be on
RUNNING mode. REMEMBER................

MOVEMENT BASICS
1. You can buy a boat from Sumannu once you become a
member of the Fishing Academy.
2. Activate boat to start sailing.
3. Use RUN to increase speed and BACK to decrease speed.
4. To turn right and left, use STRAFE RIGHT and LEFT.
Only operational when boat is moving.
5. Use SNEAK to access menu.

MENU SELECTION
1. FISH TRACKING SYSTEM - refer below for detail explanation.
2. FAST TRAVEL - instant teleport to other locations. When you
own the personal ship, you can also teleport back to the
ship location.
3. REVERSE - very useful when your boat is stranded in shallow
water or blocked by objects. Turning left and right is
operational while reversing.
4. ANCHOR - land and dismount from the boat.
5. REPAIR - your boat has a health of 100. It can be damaged
when you hit rocks or objects. The damage is relative to your
boat speed. You can buy repair tools from Faramir. The repair
damage point is completely random between 0-100.
6. AUTO/MANUAL TURN - this toggle allows you to switch
between the new and the old system where the boat turning
were used to be controlled by the player view angle.

FISH TRACKING SYSTEM
1. The fish tracking system is used to trackdown specific fish
types and improve your chances of catching them.
2. During sailing, you can turn on the fish tracking system by
selection from the menu.
3. Tracking system will stop when you activate the boat or when
you reaches the destination point.
4. The fish tracking system shows the distance and angle of
location of where the fish are. The distance are indicated
by ">>>>____". More ">" means you are getting closer to
the target. Slowdown your boat when approaching location.
Your boat will stop automatically when you reached the
destination and the fish tracking will switch off. To sail
your boat again, activate on the boat.
5. For e.g., if a message shows "Degree : 40 Left", you need
to turn to your left 40 degree. Your target is to get it
to "Degree : 0" which means the location is straight ahead.
But, it is not easy as you need to avoid rocks and coastline.
Once you get the gist of it, it should be a piece of cake.
6. The distance indicator has 10 ">" altogether. When you have
all the 10 ">" showing, it means you have reached your
destination. Your boat will stop automatically after that.
Every ">" is approx. 50,000 points distance except for the
last one which is only less than 10,000 points away. 50,000
points is approx. distance between Seyda Neen and Vivec.
Slowdown your boat when you are about to reach your
destination.

FAST TRAVEL
1. During sailing, you can select to teleport to another location.
Activate this function by selecting from the menu.
2. There are altogether 6 main locations.
- Fishing Academy Island
- Seyda Neen
- Tel Branora
- Sadrith Mora
- Dagon Fel
- Khuul
- Back to Ship ( only available when you own a ship )
3. The "Back to ship" function is only operational after you dock
your boat on the ship. Mark and Recall spell is strictly
prohibited if you plan to use this function properly.
4. You can still fast travel with the fish tracking system on.
5. Hint : Use fast travel to reach your fish tracking destination
faster.

DOCKING
1. While you are still riding the boat, get close to the ship. Then,
activate on the ship. If you appear on the ship, this means that
you have successfully docked your boat. This can be achieved
while the boat is stationary or moving.
2. Your boat will travel along with the ship. To use the boat later
on, refer to the ship manual for details.

OTHER FACTS
1. Maximum speed now is only 20.
2. You can now rotate around freely while the boat maintain it's
course.
3. Best view in first person perspective.
4. Boat is using 2NPCs for collision detection. Front and back.
So, don't be surprised when you see a shadow cast on both
side of the ship.
5. There are certain random cells in the game which do not
register a cell change causing the boat to disappear. This is
unavoidable and is the game engine issue. To get the ship
back, just trace back where you come from.

5. PERSONAL SHIP MANUAL

VERY IMPORTANT - For this to work, you need to be on
RUNNING mode. REMEMBER................

MOVEMENT BASICS

will appear on the right side of the ship.

when you hit rocks or objects. Watch out especially when
your ship is treading shallow water. The damage is relative
to your ship speed. You can buy repair tools from Faramir.
The repair damage point is completely random between 0-100.

FAST TRAVEL
1. During sailing, you can select to teleport to another location.
Activate this function by selecting from the menu.
2. There are altogether 4 main locations.
- Fishing Academy Island ( West )
- Vivec ( South )
- Azura's Coast ( East )
- Sheogorad ( North )

CABIN & BELOW DECKS
1. There are 3 interiors on the ship.
a. Cabin
b. Upper Deck
c. Below Deck
2. To access, activate the door on the ship. The below decks are
available once you have entered the cabin.
3. The interiors are mostly empty except for the basics. It has
loads of containers for you to keep your goodies.

OTHER FACTS
1. Maximum speed is 25.
2. You can also rotate around freely while ship is sailing.
3. Best view in first person perspective.
4. Collision detection extremely sensitive when in shallow
water. Tread at your own risk. Hint; when in trouble, just
Fast Travel out of the situation.
5. There are altogether 6NPCs used for the ship collision
detection.
6. Same as the boat issue above, there are certain random
cells in the game which do not register a cell change causing
the ship to disappear. This is unavoidable and is the game
engine issue. To get the ship back, just trace back where
you come from.

6. SHIP UPGRADE - CANNON
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can upgrade your ship with a cannon Summanu. However,
you require a fishskill of 20 and above to be able to purchase it.

BASICS
1. Cannon requires cannonballs to fire. You can buy them from
Faramir. Be warned, it's an expensive toy to play with.
2. The cannon maintenance menu can only be accessed when
you have anchored the ship by activating on it.
3. While sailing, activating the cannon will automatically fire a
shot, depending whether you have run out of cannonballs.

MENU SELECTION
1. FIRE CANNON - does what it says. Fire a cannonball while
ship is stationary.
2. CANNONBALL BALANCE - shows you how many cannonballs
you have left.
3. LOAD CANNONBALL - here you will load your cannonballs
from your inventory. Total balance will be updated.
4. DISMANTLE CANNON - for those who decided that he has
enough of the cannon, this will get rid of it. You can go back
and upgrade it later.
5. SAIL SHIP - a convenient method to sail the ship immediately
after you have loaded the cannonballs.

OTHER FACTS
1. No collision detection on statics, only on NPCs/creatures. But,
it will explode when it reaches sea level.
2. Cannonball explosion has a fire damage effect of 50-500.
3. The ship cannon is actually a different mesh and sometimes
when you rotate, it may be a little jerky.

7. SUBMARINE MANUAL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VERY IMPORTANT - For this to work, you need to be on
RUNNING mode. REMEMBER................

MOVEMENT BASICS
1. The submarine is available in the academy bay.
2. Activate submarine to start.
3. You will go through a dock out sequence. Just sit and watch.
4. Once outside, use RUN to increase speed and BACK to
decrease speed.
5. To turn right and left, use STRAFE RIGHT and LEFT.
6. You can toggle the control modes by activating on the
submarine. There are 2 main controls, SPEED and LEVITATION.
The SPEED mode will enable the above control operation. In
LEVITATION mode, RUN will levitate up and BACK will levitate
down.

DOCKING IN
1. For this to work, you must first leave the docking station. Once
you sail some distance away from the station, a message will
appear. Now, the docking is activated.
2. To dock back to the Fishing Academy bay, follow the line of
lightings outside. Come in slowly from the front and stay low
enough. You will know that you have docked successfully when
the submarine gets locked and starts sailing by itself.

OTHER FACTS
1. Maximum speed is 10.
2. You can rotate around freely during sailing or stationary mode.
3. Best view in first person perspective ( cannot change view ).
4. The submarine cannot be damaged.
5. It can only go up to a height of -100. Which is just enough for
you to view the surface ( a bit like the telescope ).
6. For v2.0, the submarine is purely for exploration purpose, so
creatures/fishes will not attack you. ( 100% chameleon )
7. Collision detection is using one NPC at the front. So don't be
surprise if you see a shadow casted on the seabed.
8. The NPC carries a light which helps to illuminate the
surroundings for better visibility.
9. Same cell change issue as above. To get submarine back, just
trace back where you come from.

8. FISHING MANUAL

VERY IMPORTANT - For this to work, you need to be on
RUNNING mode. REMEMBER................

BASICS
1. To fish, you need a fishing pole, a tackle box and some
baits. All the equipments are available from Faramir.
2. Each tackle box has 50 uses and each worm box has 10
baits.
3. You can only fish while SAILING on a fishing boat ( Stopped ).
4. There are 14 types of fish available for fishing.
a - Small Angel Damselfish
b - Medium Angel Damselfish
c - Large Angel Damselfish
d - Small Rainbow Damselfish
e - Medium Rainbow Damselfish
f - Large Rainbow Damselfish
g - Small Wipetfish
h - Medium Wipetfish
i - Large Wipetfish
j - Small Slaughterfish
k - Large Slaughterfish
l - Sea crab
m - Dreugh
n - Shark
5. To sail the boat again after fishing. Just activate on the
boat.
6. You cannot use the original fishing pole in the game. The
only functional one are sold by Faramir.

TECHNIQUES
1. Equip your fishing pole and draw it. You will cast your line
to the sea and awaits fish to take a bite.
2. Once you see a message indicating a nibble, pull the pole
by pressing RUN once. To reel, press SNEAK continuously.
3. Your aim is to reel the fish to 0 distance. However, the fish
will put some resistance to it. When a message "fish trying
to escape" appears, you cannot reel further. Fish will
escape forever when reaches certain distance depending
on its type.
4. To stop the fish from running away from you, pull ( RUN ) it.
However, be warned that continuous unsuccessful pull will
break your pole ( you are allowed 5 consecutive unsuccessful
attempts before your pole breaks ). Recommendation to tab
the RUN key rather than holding it down. Patience is the name
of the game. The good news is that the fish will rest after a few
seconds, the pull count will reset again.
5. After you have caught the fish, you will be given an option to
keep it in the aquarium, take its meat or throw it back to the sea.
6. To stop fishing halfway, just undraw your pole.

STATISTICS
1. If you try to fish sporadically, your chances of getting a fish
to nibble on your bait is between 0-5% depending on your luck.
For e.g. Luck=100, chance=5%. In order to increase your
chances and target specific fish types, use the fishing tracking
system on the boat. You must reach the destination specified
to increase your chances. The probability will go up by tenfold.
For e.g., Luck=100, chance=50%. Do not move your boat after
that or your chance will drop back to minimal.
2. Your chances of hooking a fish is purely dependent on your
luck. If you have Luck=50, your chances is only 50%.
3. The success of catching a fish is determined by your luck
attribute and fishing skill. Your fishing skill will gradually
increase by catching more fish. You can check your fishing
skill on the fishing logbook.
4. Your chances of catching a fish is also improved with time.
As in real life, fish will tired out with time. If you hang in there
long enough, the fish may give up escaping.
5. Fish will escape forever after reaching certain distances.
a. Small damsel/wipet - 200
b. Medium damsel/wipet - 225
c. Large damsel/wipet - 250
d. Small slaughter - 300
e. Large slaugther - 350
f. Sea Crab - 400
g. Dreugh - 450
h. Shark - 500
6. Each fish types have its own degree of difficulty to catch. Try
tackling the easy one first, mostly the damsel and wipet.
For e.g., you need a fishing skill of more than 60 to even have
a chance of catching a shark.
7. Fish weight is mostly random now. Although the fishskill does
contribute a bit to it. Winning the fishing competition is a lot
tougher but it is still achievable as your fishskill improves.

9. AQUARIUMS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. There are 3 aquariums in the academy.
Section A only holds sharks ( max. 3 )
Section B holds all damsel and wipetfish.
( max. 20 each; total = 180 )
Section C holds slaughterfish, crabs and dreugh
( max. 5 each; total = 20 )
2. Watch out how many fish you are putting in your aquarium.
Too many may slowdown the frame rate. If you have too
many, you can reduce by getting into the aquarium and kill
the fish.
3. To get into the aquarium tank, go through the grate door.
Crank up the water first before entering. To get out, vice versa.
4. Most of the fish in the aquarium are docile until attacked.
You can swim with them safely.

10. GNAAR MOK BOATMAN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. You can now take a boatride to Fishing Academy Island.
2. Speak to the boatman, Urgo stationed in Gnaar Mok.
3. After you talked to him, just sit tight and watch the scenery.
The ride is in REALTIME.
4. The boat will stopped itself when it reaches the destination.
5. This is a one way ticket ride. The boatman will refuse to send
you to Gnaar Mok.
6. Once you have dismounted the boat, you will see the boatman
sailing off. Take note that all these is happening in REALTIME.
If you take your boat and sail after him, you can actually catch
up with him.

11. VERSIONS UPDATES

v1.1 fixes
- by popular demand, the Fast Travel activation will be done by
just activating on the boat. Processing the code while running
is bad.
- modify the fishpole script slightly. When you own multiple
fishpole, the game will tend to crash when you pick up one of
the pole. NEVER create an object from an object script!!
- received some reports about game crashes when game loaded
with other mods. If you do have a zillion mods loaded at the
same time, the recommendation is to unload all of these mods
and start clean.
- modify the submarine bay slightly. This is to prepare for the
upcoming updates.

v1.2 fixes
- fixed the fishpole sold by Faramir which is causing 100% CTD.
- fixed the incorrect pearls qty shown in the journal.
- the line casting distance now varies dependent on your
fishskill. For eg, Fishskill = 0 will only cast between 50-70 and
Fishskill = 100 will cast between 100-120.
- the zip file now automatically unzip to the proper directories.

v2.0 addition/fixes
- refer to introduction for all the new additions.
- swimming test now able to accept swiftswim spells.
- there's a timer now on the fishing pole set at 0.05secs to
maintain a same response time for all computers during
fishing.
- added a script hopefully to avoid any doubling effect for
gamers who is planning to upgrade from the previous version.
