After yu get the warning msg from Morrowind, go to your WRYE MASH and open it. On the left, you will see a list of mods. Scroll down and find the one(s) in yellow or red. Click on one, on the right, will be the the Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon (assuming you have all 3). Click on one of the right side lists, then click OK in the popup. Hit SAVE. Viola, problem solved.
I've just started playing Morrowind seriously again after several years. I'd forgotten just how hard it is finding your way around and how annoying the signposts were. Thank you (many times over) for this! Endorsed with gratitude.
Seems like Nexus does not allow us to delete comments - i changed my mind about how useful it was to post additional info about the issue mentioned below - since i am sure most people will happily install Wrye Mash or load the plugin in the construction set to update the required master versions.
But since i have to write something here now lol.....
So - regarding the below "issue" - the mod still works perfectly after you click ok in the message box. It is caused by a mismatch in the size of the Morrowind esm that is stored in the plugin file, used to identify the version. If you have access to a hex editor, you can make the changes yourself. Both the Bloodmoon and the Tribunal esm files contain the same record as the plugin that references the Morrowind master - so you just need to change the plugin to match. And if you needed the size of Tribunal or Bloodmoon, you could get them from any plugin that uses the Steam version of those masters.
anyway - while i thought it was interesting/useful/nerdy - i did change my mind about how much value it would add to anything to post it - but Nexus forced my hand once i hit that Submit button - so here we are :-)
and this game is still amazing - i just use the MGE XE - and have now installed the Enhanced Textures and this great signpost mod (that i used back in the day) - and am looking forward to some higher definition and useful signposts for the next however many hundreds of hours this unique gem keeps me hooked - possibly it may be forever :-)
I've installed a lot of mods using mod organizer and openmw but this one doesn't seem to work, my game runs normally but the signposts remain the same, no errors, no crashes... If anyone is willing to help do reply.
I'm not sure that this is compatible with openmw, but I dunno. Otherwise, make sure you installed the textures and meshes that came with the mod *AFTER* any/all other mesh/texture modifiers. Also make sure you activated the plugin.
If none of that works, be see the posts below about Wrye Mash. I *think* there's something similar in MO2 for correcting the whole "can't find the masters" bit, but I don't recall if MO2 disables the plugin over it or not.
