Man from the future here, if you're having trouble using it in your inventory like bushwhacker2k, that's because you have to drop it to use it. As for how to pick it up, just put your hands away by pressing the same button to ready your spell (default r) and pick it up normally.
    Good luck!

Would it be possible to make a version where potion brewing also requires the use of a glass bottle (filled with water) and a torch for heating the apparatus ingredients? That would greatly improve immersion for me, since vanilla alchemy seems to have those crucial bits missing.

    I like the idea.

I think the most correct way to do this would be to a 5th magic effect to ingredients that has the toxicity effect. That's impossible to do now AFAIK, but something to consider when openmw is finished (whenever that happens).

Checked the readme file and still not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I configured it in my inventory, but when I try to activate it with my spell-hands up nothing happens. I don't pocket the item, but I don't start alchemy either...

For some reason, I can't add Apprentice's Retort to my list of apparatuses. When I use it in magic mode, it ends up in my inventory. As far as I can tell, this is the only one that doesn't work, but I can't make potions succesfully without it
