MGE enables you to use (or even program) custom shaders, which can have a stunning effect on the game's visual quality. Since the procedure of activating shaders is a bit involved, here is a step-by-step guide:
If the shader you want isn't already part of the MGE download package, download it and put it the directory Data Files\shaders\default . The shader should come as an fx file.
(Optional) If you want to preview a shader, select it from the Select technique drop-down menu amd click on the Preview button to the lower left. (Do not click on the Preview active chain button to the upper right, this will crash MGEgui if the chain is empty.)
When you know which shaders you want to activate, click on Edit active and double-click on every shader you want. This will put the shader into your active chain. When the game runs, all shaders in the active chain will be applied, from top of the list to the bottom. You can change the sequence with the buttons to the right. Double-clicking on a shader in the chain removes it from the chain. Click Save when you're finished.
(Optional) If you have at least one shader on your chain, you can click on Preview active chain to see your current shader chain in effect.
Close the shader editor. Go to the Render State tab and make sure that the option Hardware shader is switched on.

A graphics extender for Morrowind.
This shader may work with OGE (Oblivion Graphics Extender), although that's not guaranteed.
