    Shortly after meeting Constance near Gnisis, I had to use Recall (to an outdoors area) and triggered Companion Teleport dialogue, when I chose to summon all companions, she was not among them.  I talked to a Nord in Gnisis and he said my friend was going to trade Ebony with a Nord in Seyda Neen, so I went there and couldn't find her.  What should I do?

    Can anyone help me I think Constance is bugged for me. Im having the chat with her where she asks "do you remember I told you about that Wyrnreth family back in wayrest" and I know that after you click through all the options she is supposed to cast the paralyze spell on you and it unlocks magic options for her but im not sure why i cannot get that to actually happen. The chat never ends with the goodbye option and the spell is never cast so magic isnt unlocked. I had a look in the creation kit and i see its supposed to advance my chatcount to 6 and add magic and spell topics but none of that happens. Any one know what i can do?  Im using OpenMW if that matters

      Assuming you're (both) on OpenMW Get the txt file from here, rename it without the .TXT, and load it after const1_0.esp.

      it just doesn't work

      I put this omwaddon file in the same folder where "Thief companion Constance" is, edited openmw config and then nothing. I even set up a patch subfolder and it still can't see.
      data = "C: / games / OpenMWMods / mods / Thief companion Constance"
      data = "C: / games / OpenMWMods / mods / Thief companion Constance / patch Constance"
      "content = constance1_0.esp
      content = constance12patchopenmw.omwaddon "
      What to do? Basically I use modorganizer and I have no problems with esp.

    This was one of the coolest MW mods from back in the day, and I'm glad to see it's still kicking. Might have to try it in OpenMW one of these days.

      Don't know if this is NEEDED anymore, but it's not breaking anything to have it.

    I let her wonder around in ebonheart and now she doesnt follow anymore.
    The mod is a bit buggy
    So 1st lesson let her not wander around
    2nd don't overwrite saves

    The dialogues are funny tho

    If you have an issue I suggest that you go here and ask for help.

    I tried bribing her with 100 gold and she took 3000 and said "This is more like it" and laughed. So I did it again, 'cause I felt like it.
    Anyway, took her out and we were attacked all at once by 3 big bads. She died before I killed them. Used to playing Skyrim, where my followers are told not to die. So I saved up and got her a full set of glass armour and a daedric short sword. Will take her out again in a while and maybe tell her to hang back a bit when in combat.
    No issues with Constance. She's great, Just like Vilja.
    Many thanks.

    Reading the comments, maybe Constance isn't for everybody, but I love this mod. Often, even with great companions, I get turned off and feel that they don't fit with my game or character. Constance is fun to have around, a great, low-maintenance companion (other than her "character moments") and highly recommended. Maybe not so much for an upright Legion-style character - except for the laughs - but other than that she's great. One of the best companions in any TES game.

    I liked this mod a lot at first, but it's lost my endorsement. Forced jailing is a cardinal sin for any mod, but for a thief-themed mod in particular, it's just inexcusable. So far, I've found two different encounters where you can just get automatically thrown in jail without the option to resist arrest. Never mind that committing any other crime that doesn't earn you a death warrant always gives you the chance to pay a fine, or run and try to get your bounty cleared by the Guild. Some modders just "know better".

    The one in Ald'rhun is bad enough. Your only options are to rat Constance out, or get auto-jailed. You can't run away, nor talk your way out of it. Worse still, the jail option is a complete trap. You stick up for Constance and say you don't believe she stole anything instead of immediately taking her accuser's side? Well that makes you an accomplice and you're automatically sent to prison. There is nothing to convey that this will happen, you're just punished for sticking up for your friend. Oh, and if you say that you'll check Constance's bag, then try to make a break for it (or the NPCs wander package takes it too far away), you just get auto-jailed anyway. It's complete bull.

    However, that's still better than the one I got in Balmora. At least the Ald'rhun encounter gives you the chance to save yourself by being a narc. In Balmora, she just hands you a bunch of stolen goods right in time for a guard to accost you. Then you get to click through a nice scene of your character being a complete moron and "comically" tripping over their words until they get...you guessed it...auto-jailed. Which really breaks the immersion on my high Intelligence, high Personality, Speechcraft build. Plus the fact that it's a serious dick move that takes control away from the player.

    I don't tolerate auto-jail traps in any mod, but in a mod that is made to appeal to thief builds, it's particularly unforgivable.

      Oh, lighten up. So you got to spend a night in jail. Get over it. You were warned that Constance sometimes gets you both into trouble. She's well worth it.

      You're given an "I'll talk to her..." choice every time, use it and drop the loot - how hard is that?

      Actually, I just spent a night in jail after Constance dumped the 300 eggs on me.
      On this one there was no "I'll talk to Constance" or any other option to get out of it.
      But is WAS just one night in jail. And the conversation with Constance the next morning was priceless!
      All in all, worth it, in my opinion. (And just as "immersive" as anything else in this game.)

      And yet somehow I got through the whole mod without getting arrested... Not without reloading & being a little quicker on my toes this time, but no arrests.

      Yeah, I fell for that, too. I gave her a bunch of very expensive alcohol to carry.
      She drank it all and passed out on the floor.
