it claims to be missing an "advancedguards.esm" and also the faces just dont seem to work, i get yellow error signs. any help would really be appreciated..
Regarding the newly implemented NPC "Alma Rula": I was first wondering why a Breton (or Imperial) should be able to rule as the highest leader of the Tribunal Temple in all of Morrowind. Especially because especially the conservative House Indoril doesn`t like outlanders in gerenal and there are at least no non-dunmer in their territory of Deshaan Plains. Why should they accept a female Breton (or worse imperial) girl into their house and into the temple hierarchy, since they dominate all the priesthood there?
But then I thought of a background story that could be interesting and even TES-Lore: What if this Breton- Alma Rula would be the some kind of foster daughter for the godess Almalexia herself? We know that she withdrew from the public ca. 50 years before the starting date of TES: Morrowind Tribunal. But what if the future Alma Rula was some kind of farmer girl of Deshaan who was born and raised up in Morrowind, accepting all their religion and culture? In this case I suppose she would`ve been not a real foe right from the start even for Indoril, considering her some kind of "half- outlander" (because she still isn`t dunmer).
Some day the farm of her parents could`ve been attacked by enemies, her parents killed and a batallion of High Ordinators rescued the girl. Almalexia then saw the enormous potential of the girl, invited her into her temple room and befriended her. During the years, she managed the girls education in the Tribunal Temple, the Breton raised their ranks until she finally became the Alma Rula of Morrowind and by this also one of the highest ranking Indoril. This could be the really only one outlander that even the House Indoril respect at least to a certain extent. This house is very loyal to the Temple, so they would`ve accepted Almalexias order. The reason for her to get some "stepdaughter" could be a lonliness even a godess has to suffer from.
All in all, this could be an unknown aspect of Almalexia that is kind of "good", since she apparently is very power hungry and thinking rationally. What do you think?
Just in case anyone runs into the same problem as me... if you see Model Load Error: Meshes\AS\as_bb_khaj_f_head_03.nif cannot load file in Meshes\AS\as_bb_khaj_f_head_03.nif. Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF.when you try to start Morrowind it's because the README is wrong.
You actually do need all four of THE Facepack race files and THE Compilation file. From what I can tell, due to how THE Facepack race files are archived in .bsa files, THE Compilation file is completely useless... but it exists and it's set as a Master for this file.
Installing the individual packs is not enough because .bsa files can only be read by their companion plugin... which with 4 of them with 4 different names and none of them matching THE Compilation's plugin name... it doesn't work.
There's a BSAReg.exe there for THE Compilation but at this point it's easier for me to just extract the archives which I know will work.
"The MPP obsoletes Gnisis Guard Fix (Puma Man). This fix was superseded by Thepal's Unofficial Morrowind Patch v1.6.3b that in turn has been superseded by the MPP."
This mod incorrectly disables the stat Autocalc on about 50-75 NPCs. This can cause problems for you if you merge objects using TESTool (haven't tried SmartMerger yet) if another mod loads after this one and changes the same NPC but refrains from disabling Autocalc. TESTool reads in the stored stats and notes the disabled Autocalc in this mod because they're different from stock. Then it reads the next mod, which, since Autocalc was set, has no stat info, and assigns 0 to all stats because it's different from this mod and from vanilla, which stores stat info even if autocalc is set. But because Autocalc being enabled is the same as stock, TESTool ignores that option. The result is the merged NPC has Autocalc disabled and 0 for all stats, including health, and drops dead upon being enabled. Poor, poor Trasteve; I hardly knew ye.
There are a few options (to my admittedly limited experience): * Don't use the merged objects (or skip merging this mod). Since altered NPCs are just about the ideal reason to merge, not the ideal solution
* Move this mod to last in the load order. Pretty much flies against all mod advice, but since the point of merged objects is to fix overwriting issues, this may be the easiest option. Note that there are a few things this mod changes, including cells, that make this not MY option, but it is an option
* Manually edit "merged objects.esp" to fix. There are a LOT (2667) of NPCs modified by this file; many have Autocalc disabled in vanilla. Have to re-edit every time you rebuild "merged objects.esp", which is every time you add a mod that changes something. No thanks.
* Convert this .esm to .esp using tes3cmd, spend two hours going through and comparing each npc to the original, reset the Autocalc as needed. Convert back to .esm. Given that the last update of this file was in 2008, I felt pretty confident a new release isn't gonna come out next week and invalidate all of that work, so that's the route I chose. Now I can merge objects with impunity. YMMV.
I dont know anything about the problems of this mod, but the best utility to merge objects is "MMOG (Morrowind Merged Objects Generator)" http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1499718-relz-mmog-morrowind-merged-objects-generator-beta/
