-If you sell him the ring you can haggle with a speechcraft or mercantile of 25 for a better price. Selling the ring will cause a -20 disposition drop.
!!Progressing further through this quest will lock off Fargoth's hiding place quest
2. Ask Fargoth about the imperials and anything else you want about the situation and tell him you'll look into it.
3. Head to Arrille's Tradehouse, talk to Arille to get his rundown on the situation and to unlock an additional path.
4. Path 1: Persuading Hrisskar
-You can peacefully persuade Hrisskar to call off his men through the following skillchecks: speechcraft 50, mercantile 50, intelligence 60, luck 50
5. Path 2: Confronting Hrisskar
-With a hand to hand of 40 you can challenge him to a fight. He will tell you to meet him by the lighthouse between Midnight and 2am. Do so and he will lay down the rules for the fight; no weapons, no magick, no potions. If you break these rules he will arrest you for assault. The fight ends when one of you hits the ground. If you lose the fight you can try the other paths except the persuasion one. If you challenge him when your hand to hand is at 50 he will back down, saying its not worth it.
6. Path 3: Working for Hrisskar
-If you ask Hrisskar if there's anything you can do to change his mind he will make you a deal. He is in debt with a lot of people and some of those people happen to be the smugglers at Addamastrus. They have been sending him threats and he needs you to go kill their leader, Melar Baram. Go do so and he will hold up his end of the bargain.
7. Path 4: Arresting Hrisskar
-If you talked to Arrille and listened to his idea you will have learned that Hrisskar has been having trouble with his rival, Ganciele Douar. You might remember him as the door guard back at the Census and Excise Office. Go talk to him and learn he has evidence to offer you for reporting Hrisskar. Persaude him to give it to you with either a speechcraft of 40 or a strength of 60, else you will have to buy it off of him for 100 septims. If you have a mercantile of 40 and the money on hand you can make him drop it to 50.
-After getting the evidence go talk to Sellus next door. You can cover for Ganciele or not, either way Hrisskar is screwed and has a new home at the Moonmoth Prison
8. Path 5: Murdering Hrisskar
-if all else fails or you're a murderhobo you can tell him you're going to kill him in dialogue or just simply try to kill him. Both of these will get you a huge bounty and make Fargoth pissed with no reward, but hey it's still a solution :)
9. Whatever path you did as long as it wasn't murder you can go back to Fargoth for your reward.
Fargoth's Hiding Place
1. Go talk to Hrisskar and accept his offer to find the stash for him
-Asking Hrisskar how much of a share he'll give you will allow you to haggle for a better share with a mercantile or speechcraft of 40
2. Path 1: Lighthouse watch
-same as vanilla, go on top the lighthouse after 10pm and you can watch Fargoth slowly creep up to where his stash is.
3. Path 2: House Search
-Break into Fargoth's house. Hrisskar told you he already searched his house but he wasn't very good at it. Pick up the pillow on his bed and oh my! A diary! Reading it will tell you where the stash is.
4. Path 3: Trick Fargoth
-With a speechcraft of 45 or a mercantile of 50 you can trick Fargoth into thinking you're helping him and he'll willingly tell you where it is.
5. Path 4: Bully Fargoth
-With a hand to hand of 40 or strength of 60 you can punch that annoying little shit and intimidate him into telling you where the stash is.
6. No matter how you discovered where it is, go collect it and bring it to Hrisskar.
-If you decided to be a very big dumbass and kill Fargoth Hrisskar will naturally be pissed.
Vodunius's Cursed Ring
1. Ask Vodunius for his wonderful advice. Best advice in the game.
2. Go to Darvame and bring up that Vod sent you, and she will ask you to do her a favor and check on him.
3. Vod will tell you he's not happy at all (who can blame him) and that he wants to get the hell out and go back home. He has some favors to call in and some things to sell but he will still be just short in travel funds, unless he sells you his ring.
4. Buy his stupid ring (lot of magical rings in this garbage town). Congrats baby you're now cursed! You can't take that sucker off even in console and the more time goes by the more your willpower and luck will get smacked.
-With a mercantile of 40 and the money on hand you can reason with him to lower the price
-Like any sensible person would do, you can also tell him Hell no which will close the quest
5. Listen to Vodunius's final advice and use Darvame's discount to take a trip to Balmora and head to the temple. The head priestess, feldrelo sadri, will tell you it belongs to Lord Brinne Samarys, returning it to him at the Samarys Ancestral Tomb will break the curse and allow you to get on with your miserable adventuring life.
6. Outside on the way out you will see some dumb woman blocking the exit. Talk to her and she will tell you that the Imperial Cult wants to buy the ring from you for research. Thank her or tell her to get lost.
7. Path 1: Lift the curse
-Return to Seyda Hell and head west until you hit the water, then go north. Head inside and go to the end of the tomb. Oh jeepers, a large spooky ghost! Talk to him and give him his damn ring. Huzzah, the curse is lifted. If you kill him either by accident or cause you wanted to for some reason you can also place the ring in his urn to achieve the same effect. Beware, taking either the Mentor's ring or the key out of his urn if you didn't kill him will cause a mini-boss fight to take place.
-After the curse is lifted return to the Temple and get a fairly useful reward. You also gain a good disposition buff with all balmora temple npcs, enjoy the discounts.
8. Path 2: Their problem now
-Head to the Moonmoth Legion Fort and find the Imperial Cult area. Talk to their enchanter, Crulius Pontanian, who seems to be as equally done with everything as you are. Sell him the ring for a small profit and a disposition boost for all Imperial cult npcs in the fort.
Death of A Taxman
1. Head back to Socucius, that pleasant old man who set up your class. Naturally he's confused why the hell you're still in town (or not dead yet) but has a job. He wants you to find out where the hell his taxman has gone off to and bring his sorry ass back to him.
-Processus can spawn at 4 different locations, each having a 25% possibility. If you are having trouble finding him you can use the attached image.

2. Once you find the body, grab his tax record and gold. Return to Socucius who will be quite displeased by the news. Give him the money and he will task you with finding out who did the dirty deed.
-With a speechcraft or mercantile of 40 you can get Socucius to give you an additional hundred septims on the spot.
3. The Investigation
-The investigation uses an evidence counter to track the player's progress in deducing who did it. There are seven possible pieces of evidence. With an intelligence of 80 you don't need any evidence to confront the killer, with an intelligence of 60 you need 5 of the 7 pieces of evidence. Otherwise you will need all 7 to confront the killer into a confession.
-To start the investigation, return to Processus's body. With an intelligence of 40 activating the body will reveal that he was beaten and strangled, no weapons were used. Groovy. You will also notice a burnt out torch on his body. Take it and you will remark that the murder must have occured at night. You now have 2 pieces of evidence and the basis for what you will ask the suspects about.
-Open the tax record to reveal the suspects. You can get the evidence from these npcs in any order as long as you took the torch.
-You can use a speechcraft of 45, intelligence of 50, or strength of 50 to get the evidence from Fine Mouth, Tandram Andalen and Teleri Helvi each. You can also get Tandram to confide in you if you are a bard.
-Fine Mouth will reveal that he likes to go for swims at night and saw an Imperial and a Dunmer go into the swamp on the night of the murder.
-Tandram will admit that he hated Processus but doesn't have the guts to murder him. He was in the tradehouse performing during the night of the murder. If you use weapon sheathing you will also notice he has a dagger, it is unlikely that he would have risked a fair fight when he could do a few stabby stabs and call it a night.
-Teleri will claim that she was sleeping on the night of the murder but had gotten up before dawn and heard a man walk by murmering and cursing to himself.
-Asking Indrele Rathryon will reveal that she is friends with Thavere Vedrano and Processus by proxy, she has zero reason to kill him as he always looked the other way and gave her lots of time to pay her taxes.
-Informing Thavere Vedrano, Processus's GILF gf, of the murder will lead to her telling you that Processus had butted heads with Tandram Andalen and Foryn Gilnith the most.
-This leaves only one suspect, whose only alibi is that he was sleeping. Head to Foryn Gilnith once you have enough evidence and confront him.
-If you have an intelligence less than 40 then you can not complete the investigation and get the confession. Sorry, but your character is just too much of a dumbass to figure out murder cases. You can always fortify your intelligence or come back later, but if you're impatient you can whack Foryn at anytime. Take the ring off his body and return to Socucius. After telling him you just guessed he will be very disturbed and minimize your reward.
4. The Confrontation
-Confronting Foryn will lead to him sucker punching you and fleeing. If you have a hand to hand of 60 you can deflect the punch and prevent him from fleeing.
-If he does flee, you will have to wade through the swamp once more to find him from 3 possible spots, each having a 33% chance of him being there. If you can't find him, use the attached image.

-After you either prevent him from fleeing or find him again he will refuse to come with you peacefully.
5. Path 1: Kill Foryn
-After he flees or tries to flee, kill him openly or through dialogue and take Processus's Ring off his body, you'll need it for proof. Bring it to Socucius who will be quite pleased and give you the reward as promised.
6. Path 2: Side with Foryn, poison Socucius
-Ask Foryn why he did what he did and you will be able to side with him. Offer to help kill Socucius and ask Foryn what his plan was. He will reveal that he was going to use a poison made out of three Violet Coprinus and two Coda Flowers, then break into Eldafire's house and poison the food she makes for Socucius. Go get the ingredients if you don't have them, both are found in the Bitter Coast and you can get coda flowers off of the dragon tails in the ponds. Once Foryn gives you the poison, break into Eldafire's house where you will find a cauldron in her fireplace. Activate it to apply the poison and leave the house. After an ingame hour passes Socucius will be dead, talk to Eldafire.
7. Path 3: Side with Foryn, murderhobo Socucius
-Tell him you'll help him, but refuse the poison. Go kill Socucius and after dealing with the bounty (or don't) talke to Eldafire
8. Path 4: Side with Foryn, arrest Socucius
-Refusing to kill Socucius and asking for other ideas will have Foryn suggest that if you could steal the ledger from the Warehouse (the building across the office) and the Smugglers' ledger in Addamastrus, you could force Sellus to take action. Go do so and bring them both to Sellus who will be furious and have Socucius arrested immediately before giving you a reward. You can go visit Socucius at the Moonmoth Prison.
9. Path 5: Spare Foryn
-Tell Foryn you don't care and to give you proof to fake his death, give Socucius the ring.
10. After you have dealt with either Foryn or Socucius, give the ring to Thavere Vedrano for some potions.
-If you told Foryn to turn himself in you can head to the Moonmoth Prison to see he kept his word. If you didn't, you can find him at Gnaar Mok.
