Gobul is ingame and I have finished polishing his weights! Now I just need to redo his back-puffing and back-spikes.

honestly if i could pick ANY mod to be in the actual game this would be it

1.the monster is good enough for world and is very well designed to look like it was actually remade for world with the substance painter model plus its already a part of the series that they could just slot into the game and it would bring back leviathans into the game

2.it doesn't break suspension of disbelief

3.the fact that this mod is going to include the gobul armor is incredible since i feel some people would have just stopped at the monster itself

the people working on this are doing fantastic and i really do hope this someday gets added into the game even if it is unlikely because i don't really see much problem with this being in the game

also a pukei pukei/khezu remodel i feel could work nicely since the tongue attack could be changed to khezus neck attack and so on and i feel like its a perfect fit

Please tell me you will, after the Great Jaggi, work on a Qurepeco? That little trickster has my heart, just as the Barioth, in particular, has my hatred.

It could replace the Titzi-ya-ku because of the flash effect...but I was originally thinking of the Kulu-Ya-Ku.

I could try working on that next. Great Jaggi's model is almost done. However, he has been put on hold since I have been working on a redo of Gobul's in an attempt to make it more accurate to Gobul's original appearance. Fortunately, I am almost done with the low poly of the redone Gobul model. The only thing that is really holding me back from getting them done right away is that I got a tech job recently, so I'll try my absolute best to get them done quickly enough with the free time I currently have.

this might be an obvious answer, but does this risk a ban since it changes some gameplay elements of the Jagras?

Literally nothing you could do as a user risks a ban.

oh ok cool. I had heard that capcom only doesn't mind mods that are just cosmetic. I was under the impression that gameplay altering mods could get you banned

Sorry for the late reply, Capcom is mostly worrying about cheating in online hunts. There are several mods specifically designed to test damage and break values since Capcom doesn't provide enough info, but you can also use these same mods to give yourself unlimited gems from the shop and a weapon that oneshots. Basically, if you are going to mod like that they might eventually try to stop you but otherwise you are safe, especially if the mod is something like this with no payout that's just for fun and innovation.

...no, they seriously care about nothing regarding modding. They have never banned anyone in any MH game to date. The only bans that have ever happened were in Tri, where it was Nintendo throwing a fit over people jailbreaking their handhelds to mod their game. Capcom has never cared about modding, as they understand it's a major part of their community, and unless they've suddenly and heavily changed their stance, you can expect the same for World.

We can't add new monsters as of right now because we are reverse engineering everything from scratch since Capcom has not given us official modding tools (and probably never will).

i'm not sure if it was this mod that did it or not but after installing this all of my tips that pop up on the side, for example when it says your harvest box is full, have been messed up and now with the harvest box example, it could be completely empty but the pop up will say it's full

if it wasn't this mod then any idea as to what mod on here would do it would be helpful

That would not be this mod, and frankly I have no idea what you could've installed that would do something like that to your game. It'd have to be something that tinkers with how the game handles notifications and translations, but I don't know of any mods on the Nexus that are remotely invasive in that department...

i mean it's not a big issue but it is kind of weird seeing different popups, i guess i'll just have to leave it

Thanks man! You are in luck because I can't wait to do more! I am actually working on another one right now but it is on hold for now until I update Gobul to the point where he has an altered move-set. Once that is done, I'll focus more on the new one (it will replace Kulu-Ya-Ku with Great Jaggi).

So as the appreciation fest has came around and we have been blessed with the "The Greatest Jagras" quest this mod has turned to be even better on that quest than before because seeing a Gobul that big using the spit has made my day. 10/10 mod before the quest 20/10 now.

looks really good so far, even when its missing some features(mainly breakable areas). only thing that could be a little bit better is the weightmap in the leg. do they bend in blender different than they do ingame?

Thank you! And yeah pretty much. I don't know if i am going to be able to fix the back legs because it might just be a skeleton limitation. I will definitely at least, try to fix it at some point, but no guarantees.

my suggestion would be that you dont weightmap all legbones, and instead make a gradient that rigs from the body (or whatever bone is responsible for the bodypart where the leg is attached too) down to the lower leg bone or ankle than use the inverted gradient for the lower leg or ankle bone up to the body back, and weightmap a little area for the feet at the end. this is of course under the assumption that it will bend in blender the same way as it does in MHW later
