      No, this mod doesn't change the chances of getting upgrades, it only makes some changes to the upgrades themselves

      does this still work with safi weapons that already have the upgrade installed before i download this mod?

      They should work, the only skills that may have issues are the ones mentioned in the description
      (Impact phial changer (for elemental charge blades), Power element phial
      changer (for elemental switch axes) Spirit and Strength boost changer
      (for Insect Glaives), Healing boost changer (for Insect Glaives), level 1
      wide shelling (for Gunlances), level 1 long shelling (for Gunlances),
      and level 1 normal shelling (for Gunlances))
      due to these skills being changed into the new armor set bonus skills,
      prior to downloading the mod, I would recommend removing these skills from any safi weapons you have
