- "Can you upload a version that only has [insert]?" No. Again not everything in this modpack is made by me, just either edited or the installation process would be so annoying to do that it got grouped in. After all I MADE an overhaul of the game(my overhaul took like two weeks to make btw) on top of all the added stuff, and to make it even more crazy, this modpack uses another overhaul as a BASE, so it would be way too complicated.
- "Low Rank is super hard now!" Don't worry, this is very intentional. Me and my friend got tired of breezing past Low Rank easily in like 1 day. In this modpack it took us a little over a week to get out of Low Rank.
Just so this is stated: Monster Inheritance is NOT supposed to be an "enhanced" version of MHW or a "QOL" pack or anything. No, this is simply just a fun thing I made with my friends and they suggested that I uploaded it because we all think it's super fun. However, do keep in mind that I had no interest in keeping the original feel or balance of MHW at all. I have like thousands of hours on the game and it got to the point where I really wanted to play it, but barely any mods I could find changed enough about the game for it to be satisfactory enough to me. I only was interested in Velindian's movesets and ArtfulHobbes' mod, so I kinda just got bored and made this modpack.
That being said this isn't like a passion project or anything. Yeah I'll fix bugs and stuff but I don't plan on doing balance patches or anything unless something is like so broken that it's ruining the original vision of the mod. But yeah just play it or not, idk. But I'm not doing any additional balancing on this mod so if you have a problem with something it's better to just play a different mod.
- If you look at any of the Flying Wyvern Set-locked skills without the set bonus, your game will just deadass crash. I'm assuming this happens because Lv1 skills shouldn't be secrets so the game crashes if you try to look at it without the secret unlocked. But there's no gameplay impact so this is also never getting fixed due to this probably just being hardcoded behavior.
- Sometimes you will be able to back out of a menu in the game, to fix this, just left click with your mouse once.
- I'm assuming mixing Rose Style and Better Input Detection causes this "bug", but it seems like you can't EASILY use the Switch-Axe special evade or the jumping attack in a combo. Because if you hold the morph button(it has to be pressed to do either of those two moves I mentioned), it will just do a morph slash. This could just be a part of Rose Style but I put it here just in case. I actually main the Switch Axe in this modpack and this doesn't bother me because I just got better at using the moves. Better Input Detection does make certain weapons harder to use imo like SA and Velindian's SnS, but just mastering the moveset negates this issue.
- Decoration slots will still appear on weapons and armors, but trust me they are not actually there. So don't be mislead, they show up in the preview but not in the "Equip Decorations" menu.
- There's some random useless Greatsword at the bottom of the weapon tree that you can't make.
I'm coming back from a long pause from playing and wanted to experience something different, this mod's description ticks all the boxes, I really want to play this mod. But it's currently broken, specifically Tic does not work, nor does Artful's work either, even if I try to use this without tick, it seems to heavily depend on Artful, and it's currently broken. The worst thing is that I don't think crayonchewer would/could do anything about this as it's the dependencies that are broken and I can't even check if his mod is broken as well or not.
I love the ideas you have crayonchewer, I hope that the dependencies get fixed so I can have a new run that is more rewarding because no everything is easy.
Hey im new to modding mhw but the game crashes before i can enter, i installed the requirements, then the main file, then the optional, and i dont understand why its not functioning, any help is appreciated
Edit: Seems like there is a problem with the "switchaxe.dll" from Artful's mod. (Inheritance seems to use the exact same file). If I remove this file, the game launches.
Edit2: There also is a problem with the "customFOV.dll". When I launch the game with those, it states something about it not being able to be loaded, and that it doesn't match the bytes(?)
PS.: But I don't know in what way/to what degree those files change the game/are required.
Edit3.: Annnnd... now it crashed after char creation
Hi so I was wondering which file is for the health and stamina? I really enjoy the mod and but I suck at it too tbh. I wanted to tweak or just get rid of the low hp at each starting quest and was wondering which ones I would need to deactivate or delete for it to work. I just started a new one an eating only gives little to none hp and stamina and was wondering what file that was also linked to?
To anyone that is interested in trying out this mod. It has the same .DLL files provided by Artful's MHW II mod. I have no idea if crayonchewer is including them because they were modified for Monster Inheritance, but they seem to be the same size.
Now, they can cause crashes, at least one of them is making it so you CTD immediately if you even try to attack the exploding barrel in the training ground. To my knowledge, most DLL mods will require some editing at the bare least so that they work in the current version of MHW, so I opted for deleting Monster Inheritance .DLLs (main file) and using the ones provided by the updated Artful's MHW II mod.
If there is no need for them in the first place, then it's all good, but if the mod DOES rely on specific modifications done to them, well, only time will tell how bad it is. Hope we can get an update / clarification because this is a very cool overhaul for MHW!

Yo so is it normal for Anjanath to just perma spam roar? I cant tell if another mod is breaking it or if its intended, but it is a tad annoying to be staggered 80% of the fight

I'm an IG player, is it normal that the kinsects buff are lasting very long when they're supposed to be very short with Velindian mod ? The rest of the moveset works as intended though.
Seeing the latest update for Artful's overhaul is from February - would there be any issue using that latest version with Monster Inheritance? Or should we fall back to a previous version of it instead?
EDIT: After the most recent update, we actually have to update Artful to not crash in the first place
