Does this work with the Hi Res Texture pack that's on Steam or is it one or the other?

It works with the Hi Res Texture pack on steam and I highly recommend using both at the same time! (Given that your system can handle it of course).

Thanks for the amazing work! If I could add a suggestion, maybe you could do something to pretty up the fully grown ancient tree in Astera? Some of the leafy branches at the top are particularly pixelated, especially in comparison to the HQ textures.

Thank you. I tried looking for pixelation on the Ancient Tree but I wasn't entirely sure I had seen what you are referencing. Would you mind sending me a screenshot of what you mean?

Hi sorry bout the late response I don't visit the nexus much. I took a screenshot of the tree, this is with the HD texture pack and HQ asset pack. The problem area is the leafy branches at the top of the fully grown ancient tree, at a distance they don't look out of place, but standing in the canteen puts the top of the tree at eye level and they are glaringly pixelated and low detail, especially the branches that have almost a sawtooth pattern.

I haven't set up a discord. But I will say that I've been working on this slowly but surely.

Do you do all the texturing from scratch and the modeling for said props? how does it work

I'd say a lot of the time it depends on what particular asset I'm working on. For textures most of the time I will need to make manual edits to the maps. Sometimes it is better to just create new textures from scratch while best maintaining the game's art style of course. I will sometimes use AI as a tool to get better textures. Most of the edits include geometry of the meshes. When making geometry edits, a lot time will go towards correcting the maps for the edits (or correcting the UVs). The original textures were designed in a way to help the look of having less geometry. For example, if you were to make an object's geometry more circular, the texture map(s) may end up making it look less circular than the original geometry due to the texture design.

It's not working at all for me. Bone bridges and the rope between them still looks as blurry as ever. I definitely followed the instructions right, weird

When testing this mod to see if it's installed correctly, try looking at the watering can on the railing in the private quarters area (can reference mod video). To me, that's probably the biggest singular difference between vanilla and this mod. There are some bones bridges I haven't been able to find in the files to replaces as of yet. So not every single bone bridge has been altered. That's something I plan on trying to hit in an update though.

Any chance you could fix the issue of low res reflections being layered on metallic objects with screen space reflections enabled? All reflective objects look pixelated with this option.

You can use reshade. This mod doesn't touch anti-aliasing.

are you able to change the file type to .zip or any other universal archive type? GNU/Linux Mac and Steam Deck users wont be able to extract it without installing third party tools

You can use bsdtar (libarchive) or unar, both of which are available in practically all distros.

I just used WinRAR under Wine since that works well with a Dolphin File Manager extension. But thank you.

Perfect, been waiting for something like this for awhile! I remember seeing the open doorway from the smithy to the gathering hub in Seliana and hating the how low res the textures were, I'll be following this for sure <3

That's a good one. I'll have to rework that doorway in the next update.

This mod can be installed with or without the HighRes tex DLC. For the textures in this mod, they are improved off of the HighRes tex DLC.
