So, after i tried it once i deleted it and here is why.
On paper it sounds good, triple fatalis, triple the fun with my fav meme dragon. But there i though this - they can damage each other, so in the whole fight i did only 1 helm breaker and that is it, they killed each other. 3 faints, mission done in 9:51. Nice work, too bad that currently it is just lame. May I propose the following: Make them receive 10% of each other's damage and reduce the amount of faints to 20, +-4. Increase the amount of rewards - currently same amount of rewards as if I have done "Fade to Black" or "The Black Dragon".
Nevertheless, I gave you an endorsement and I am hopefully getting what i want and what people will def like.
Not hard at all. Download the tools I listed in my credits. They made everything pretty self-explanatory. My advice is to start with the in-game quest, mod on top of that and save to a different quest id, rather than trying to create a brand new one from scratch.
I know how to create a quest that replaces existing ones but I'm struggling how to add a monster to a new map. For example I'm trying to make Barroth be in the Hoarfrost reach but I can't seem to get him to spawn - I've seen mods where you can get Teostra and Zinogre in the hoarfrost reach but I can't seem to get Barroth to do the same. I also want to make it so that he uses specific textures while in the Hoarfrost reach as I've seen that is also possible. Any further advice on this?
Yeah adding monsters not in their biome is different, and unfortunately I haven't figured it out yet. I tried to add Alatreon to this mod and experienced the same thing you described. Let me know if you found a way!
This is a quote from LyraVeil on a different mod post. 'monsters have spawn files for the maps they appear, you have to make your own if its a place where it has not appeared before, further more the monster is not going to behave properly in a new area and that cant be fixed with just one file it needs a lot of work.'
so to summarise, if a monster isn't compatible with a map then it will be a lot of work. It is very possible but it's more complicated than I pictured it (even if you follow other people's mods). Probably best to wait for someone to perhaps make a detailed tutorial on this or just request other more skilled modders to implement monsters you would like to see on different maps :)
Yeah that's the one thing I'm still trying to "fix". For most other monsters in game their big attacks are pretty reasonable, just enough to kill the hunter. With Fatalis I think capcom intentionally went overboard to make sure nothing survives on the ground from that flame, including themselves.
