It should be noted that 3rd party applications like HunterPie should be able to see things like Stackers when added through MO2, if said applications are launched via MO2 (similar to how you'd launch MHW through MO2).
I haven't actually tested this yet, however I use MO2 all the time for Skyrim modding and use tons of 3rd party tools for it, and this is how it works for those. I would imagine it still works like this for MHW.
Wow. You're absolutely correct. I knew you could run HunterPIe through MO2 and it'd work, but I never even considered running both through MO2 simultaneously. I just assumed that wouldn't work. I just tested running HunterPie through MO2, clicking "Unlock" in the MO2 interface, then running MHW through MO2. I didn't do thorough testing, but the game launched and HunterPie noted the native functionality was working.
Thanks for pointing this out, that makes things super easy. I'll update the guide to note this when I get some time.
as a big fan of modding skyrim/fallout games through mo2, as well as a long time manual install mod user for mhw, thanks so much for this easy to use guide :D
So, nativePC is your data folder for skyrim plebs. Latest updated of Stracker's Loader have some extra files outside of the nativePC folder. So I guess we should keep only the nativepc folder for Stracker's Loader there on M02 and the extra files on the main game folder?
edit: Mmm seems like everything was okay on MO2. No need to add extra files on the main folder.
So, the fix you suggested for reshade did not work. However I found a method that did work. I zipped all of the reshade files/folders that are in the game directory (reshade-shaders, dxgi.dll, reshade.ini, and reshade.log) in one folder named reshade, then I used mod organizer to install from archive. In the install prompt I made sure the files are placed in the game's exe directory and badabing, it worked.
Hello, I need help. I switched from Vortex to MO2. However, when I try just launching the game (even without any mods), MO2 freezes. Also, installing mods (ie. stackers loader) gives me a "mod organizer does not recognize this directory structure". Need help. Thanks.
I know this is a somewhat old guide but i discovered something I wanted to share just in case. As per the sticky post, by launching Hunterpie thru MO2 you can have hunterpie detect all your plugins, however if you try that then the fix for reshade will NOT work. You ahve to do what "TrueSpaghetti" mentioned, and unlock mo2 and run monster hunter after running hunterpie. if you do that, reshade will initialize and hunterpie will activate too.
