Also: WEAPONS CAN ONLY HAVE ONE POINT IN A SKILL. This is a game limitation. Not a bug, not something I can fix. It's a limitation of the game data. If you awaken a weapon with a skill, it will only have one point. Nothing I can or will do.
Yes, if you remove a file that changes the points a gem provides then obviously the gem points will revert to what they were before. This only modified definitions. There's only one exception to this: The only semi-permanent change you can have is gems in weapon/armor slots. Any gems in slots stay in slots, so if you lose access to the slot the gem will still be there but invisible.
Awesome mod, for now I am playing only 1 armor piece, all set bonuses, but it feels op sometimes as well. Basically, I want something just a bit more powerful than in the base game, so can you please make a version, where the weapon counts as a set piece as well, for example I have equipped 3 pieces of Fatalis set and the moment I put any fatalis weapon to have the 4 piece bonus :)
No, you have no idea how much of a logistical nightmare that is. This is a many:many relationship. That would require me to make each weapon provide 1 (since a weapon can only provide one point) fatalis set point, and that's assuming the game even cooperates since it doesn't like set skills being used like normal ones. And that would cover all weapons FOR ONLY A SINGLE SKILL. And there's no way in hell I'm making 100+ versions of the mod for the rest of each skill or all the insane variations in-between.

It is a lot of work, making each and every weapon which is called after a set to be a part of that set, especially on weapons with multiple elemental variants, it will be a suicide, I agree, but At the endgame, there are ~5 sets which have good set bonuses, of which fatalis and velkhana are the most useful in my opinion, so for ~5 sets it is possible. I do not see why you have to make 100+ versions of the mod, may be you are over exaggerating, may be I am stupid and I do not see it, may be both. Anyway, thank you for the reply. When I have time, I will make this for velkhana and fatalis, although, velkhana needs some better skills on it as well, as well as better gem slots. Damn, that sounds like a lot of work, only to be able to have 4 pieces velkhana and 2 pieces fatalis at the same time. May be I will stick with my usual 3 fatalis and 2 velkhana, fatalis solo runs with the longsword in ~5 minutes anyway.
Thank you for the great mod. I'm having trouble getting the weapon mod to work. I copied the l_sword.wp_dat and l_sword.wp_dat.json into nativePC>common>equip. When I load the game everything remains the same. None of the longswords have an additional slots. If you or someone else can let me know what I've done wrong and tell how to correct my mistake. I'd greatly appreciate it.
hi, does exceeding a certain amount of equiped skills result in a crash maybe? I get it always when choosing decorations on my set, while browsing the list. When i reach x amount of skills of my character, i get a "graphics device crashed" window error. I play on a RTX 3080. Do you think the mod is the origin of the crash?
"graphics device crashed" is your GPU driver failing, not the game. The game goes down after that because it's not a recoverable error. Yes, but it wouldn't be the driver that crashes, it would be the game. And you probably aren't going to trigger it with this unless you edit armor and talismans to get just the right number on there. You'll know if this is the cause though since looking at an armor, thus 'previewing' the skills, will result in too many pages for the UI and the game will crash.
Got it, I looked around to find a solution and your mod is perfectly fine. The issue is with my GPU as you mentioned. I have latest drivers, however, due to the 3080 being so hot i have an undervolt going on, this is the issue. I have no issues in other games but in MHW it crashes so easily, it is more sensitive I guess.
Anyways thanks for your answer, your mod is lovely, im endorsing it and hoping you bring us something else in the future.
