Common causes of crashes I have noted: - Crash to desktop on startup - Check that you have the latest version of the loader - Check that you have the right version of the game - Try restarting steam
- Crash / Loading screen stuck *anytime* after that : Something is wrong with the mods you have installed, check the contents of your nativePC folder
- As of version 4.0 of the loader, the loader should stay compatible through minor updates, but I do keep an eye occasionally open for mhw updates just in case.
if one finds the game is 'black screen' etc, just restart one's pc, and attempt to load the game again, *just* the game, dont try to run other applications yet at this stage, and do not remove focus from the window, if having multiple screens.
the loader will rebuild the dependencies and reconnect it. give it time.
Mr. Stracker is quite dilligent - if his loader stops working he will come back with an update. but it is not his loader halting the progress, please check the other mods, and perhaps remove them one at a time until one's game starts again.
I tried installing both with and without vortex and the game opens but refuses to work, everytime i need to restart the pc as a whole as no other program seems to work when i try to load the game with stracker's loader installed. Anyone has any idea why or how to fix it?
game simply refuses to open if i put in loader.dll on the root folder, with or without mods, for some specific reason JUST loader.dll makes the game simply close on startup for no apparent reason (i have everything installed correctly and latest nvidia drivers, it was working fine a week ago but stopped yesterday. spent 5 hours trying to figure out how to fix but no clue yet)
I am on version 5.11 and installed the coresponding files for that but then the game keeps crashing altghough when I install the minimal loader, everything seems to be fine even with the mods, my problem is that there is no quest loader for that specific file
i can't run the game with stracker's loader even without any mods installed, but after i deleted dinput8.dll, loader.dll, and the plugins, then i install the mods on nativePC, the game and the mods still load. i dunno why

QuestLoader.dll can't find these functions at the expected memory addresses, that means your game is not the latest version. Verify your game files in Steam.
It is not about you personally reaching Master Rank, since the DLL hooking happens at game launch, before your save is loaded.
Using version 15.11.01 with the corresponding latest loader for that version: 1982-2-2-0-1622826334). Everything worked fine, with mods installed as well.
Updated NVIDIA drivers to Game Ready 572. Try to launch the game. The loader takes too long to start, the game goes fullscreen by the time the loader pops up (I've got it set to DEBUG), and everything crashes. (Under normal operation, the loader is supposed to execute the moment the game process executes, indicated by its window popping up before then going fullscreen/borderless)
I revert the drivers to my previous ones using DDU and reinstalling (Studio 561) and uninstall the NVIDIA App, basically undoing what I did, then restart Windows and try again. The problem persists.
I can't figure out why it suddenly doesn't want to hook the game process the instant it runs and it now delays for 5 seconds, and I can't figure out what to do to fix it.
2 previous reports on this page from mid-February suggested that the problem began with 572.42 (2025-02-13) and was fixed by 572.47 (2025-02-20).
Other comments since then have hinted at the problem continuing, but without any useful details. Please include the specific 572.xx version.
If I used Windows and Nvidia GPU and I had too much time (none of which are true), I would setup a system with Nvidia driver 561 (or 566.36, the last release before 572), backup/snapshot the system, use Sysinternals Process Monitor (procmon) to monitor in real time for file and registry changes, and run the 572 installer to try to find out what it actually does.
edit: and of course, testing MHW with and without Stracker's before and after

Maybe installing the 572 drivers changed a driver-side setting with DLSS which does not work with MHW's DLSS 1.1.
I did move the two dll files out, the problem persists.
