I have ported the mod to Iceborne a few days ago and am testing it right now – so far it seems to work fine. However be advised that at first the utility to fully restore nativePC functionality needs to be made available to the public. Which should happen soon, but since I'm not the author of it, that's not my call to make. Rest assured however, that this mod will be available for Iceborne.
Try the one for Iceborne (https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1960), even if you didn't acquired the DLC it may work. I had the same problem and this other worked.
An update for this would be lovely, I can't see s#*! without the scout flies either dimmed or removed altogether, and the constant buzzing can drive one to insanity. I hope that's all still possible.
Mod suggestions: - Allow Scoutflies to appear, just for a few seconds, when targeting a monster via the HUD icons (click Right stick / R3) - Remove all HUD elements except for health + stamina (*bars scaled down 50%, if possible) - Decrease night time lighting and increase Scoutfy lantern illumination
So I modified a file to keep a highlight on footprints, etc. It also keeps the information hud about monsters ecofact, on the left. But for some reason I don't know, the hud and the highlight are always late. It means that if you run on an ecofact, you could still miss it, because the hud won't display it in time. But well, it's better than nothing. And if anyone knows why, well, fix it.
Enjoy if you want, you just have to replace the file here : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\nativepc\common\guide_insect By this one : https://uptobox.com/01vrofw8ez7o (hope it'll work)
I tested it 10 min, so there isn't any guarantee. Keep a backup.
Thank you for making the visible footprints plugin! I've tried it, but unfortunately, it doesn't work well for me - footprints/scratches are now visible, but so is the scoutflies' green dot on the minimap. The scoutflies themselves are invisible, but their minimap icon is visible, and a (very annoying) flickering light shines on the ground where they would be. Is there any chance you or MHVuze could incorporate visible footprints without the scoutflies' flickering glow (and, optionally, minimap dot)?
For now I'll be sticking with the vanilla version of the No-Scoutflies mod, as this eliminates the scoutflies (flickering glow, minimap dot, everything) completely. It does make footprints difficult to find, but most footprints are (slightly) visible in the gameworld by default, anyway, and I can usually follow the button prompts which tend to lead in a straight line to the monster.
Thank you so much to the modders for making MHW actually playable without those stupid scoutflies!
You need both. The full mod has files to get rid of scoutflies, their sounds, map icon, the autocam, etc. The highlighted footprints addon has only one file, which adds back glowing green footprints/scratches and an annoying flickering light that follows you around (it replaces one of the original mod's files). Keep a backup of the original mod's files, as you'll probs want to go back to it; the footprints, etc. are findable without highlighting, and the flickering light added back by the addon is very annoying imo.
Been using this for awhile now and it's wonderful. I originally installed it to get rid of the camera snap effect, but the added benefit of actually hearing the environmental ambience rather than the constant fly activation noise spam on nearby gather points and tracks is something I didn't expect at all. You can even put the flies back in but leave the muted audio file if you really want the flies back.
Really great mod, will definitely continue using for Iceborne.

Any chance this can be fixed? This mod is so crucial to me any many others!
We are in April 2020. I would love to enjoy this wonderful mod again.
