Okay but why tho? Hidden elements have always been a hilariously dumb mechanic most people don't want to engage in. It is actively easier to just make a weapon with an awakened element than waste time investing in the skills to make the hidden element viable.
I'd mostly attribute that to the balancing of hidden elements. In the older games, including world, hidden elements were either equivalent or worse than awakened elements, not to mention most late-game weapons already had awakened elements regardless. In this mod, I aim to keep hidden elements higher than average elements, and by using World's mechanic of having 3 stages of Free Elem, you can always choose how much you want to spec into it.
There's about zero reason not to have hidden elements besides the time investment of balancing them, as they're purely another option for weapons. There's about no difference in investing 3 jewels for additional poison on a weapon as opposed to 3 jewels for a bit of white sharpness.
Mind telling me what the message is? Make sure your reframework is up to date. The script uses a function that is only available in the latest reframework.
I don't see how this mod is a step back at all. You never -have- to unlock elements, however having the ability to do so with null-element weapons opens up some options and variety for different builds incorporating the new skill. I don't see how it's anything but a positive, especially in a mod format.
I just wanna say, that you've made some of the coolest mods for Rise so far. Ramped Up, Blighted, and now this, all interesting additions. Keep up the work!
