I was very confused what this mod was about, exactly. Apparently if your system is strong and you're running on a current-gen m.2 you probably aren't experiencing these delays from autosave.
The save owl(s) in the corner don't take multiple seconds to disappear? The game actually saves very little data (~6-7 MB), but seems to spend several seconds preparing to save it, regardless of how powerful your computer is. Maybe it's framerate-dependent, and you play at a very high framerate?
You're looking at the code, specifically the variable used to store the last time a save occurred. If you're interested in how REFramework mods work, the Lua and REFramework documentation will help, but getting proficient with coding is a long road.
If you were looking for the actual config file (where settings are stored), you can find it in REFramework's "data" folder, but it will only exist if you've changed the autosave delay.
Ok, thanks. I guess what I was hoping to do is save one minute after I talked to someone. But, not sure that's even possible. Great mod though, helps in village a lot.
@Xiroinfinity That's 100% false. You will get this delay even if you time travel to 30 years from now and get a top end PC, the delay is because of how the games crap handling of saving. Not PC hardware. The delay is forced unless you disable auto saves.
I really wanted this to work, but it prevents VIP Dango Ticket from working. Vortex doesn't report any conflicts. So this mod gets disabled until there is a fix. If that's possible.
I disabled VIPDango, and installed a new mod (Fluffy mod), but with this mod enabled game crashes to desktop as soon as I attempt to eat.
Odd, I use this alongside VIP Dango Ticket and both work fine. There's nothing the two mods do that should conflict in any way. I don't use Vortex, however, since it's infamous for installing mods wrong. Perhaps try installing one or both of them manually?
So, turns out, VIP Dango Tickets has a bug that interacts with a bug in REFramework (which will be fixed in the next release) that unpredictably breaks other mods. I left a comment on VIP Dango Tickets explaining a one-line tweak that should fix the problem, if you'd like to try it.
I finally got this mod working by getting a different mod for Dango Tickets. Unfortunately, this mod prevents 5 of my other mods from working. I will just have to go back to wasting my time in Elgado. I can't tell you how much I wated this to work without causing other problems. Maybe you can solve this problem in future updates.
Oof, I've heard of mods breaking, but 5 at once is a new one. Sounds like you had more than one mod causing issues like VIP Dango Tickets does, but there's no easy way to tell which mods are the culprit. This mod is too simple to cause the problem, but simply changing which mods load in which order seems to have a big impact, so just removing it shook things up enough for stuff to stop breaking.
It's a shame the nightly build didn't seem to help. I was pretty confident it would fix the problem.
As a last resort, you could try changing the name of this mod's lua file: add a Z or some other letter to the beginning to make it load after other mods. People have had success with renaming files, but sometimes it just changes which mods break. If you've got everything working now, it may be best to just leave things as they are.
I tried renaming, but it didn't work. It did make in the last in the deploy order, but the other mods didn't work. I was able to get everything working by uninstalling/reinstalling in Vortex before I launch the game. That means before EVERY launch of the game. At least everything works as long as I remember to uninstall/reinstall.
I would expect reinstalling to do nothing but delete your mods' settings... but like I said before, Vortex is infamous for causing problems, so there's no telling what it's actually doing. It'd be a hassle, but your best bet may be to ditch Vortex, delete everything (you should be fine saving settings from the data folder), and re-install all of your mods manually.
I love using this mod, what Dango mod works with this? I really need to use this as the constant autosave screws up my gameplay due to horrible laptop specs, thanks :D
Any of them. This mod never actually conflicted with any others, but some mods have bugs that used to cause problems (REFramework has since been updated to prevent them), and sometimes REFramework just fails to hook functions for no obvious reason. Seems like, if you have too many mods and/or are unlucky, some of your mods might just not work. Nothing I can do about it, sadly.
You can open the map and fast travel around the village to avoid the auto save. This is especially useful in the Sunbreak village due to everything being in very close proximity to the middle of the village. If this mod every breaks you can use this as a workaround.
Oh, this is a nice middle-ground between no autosaves or "autosave every 5 seconds". Thanks.
Though I must say, if you turn off autosave in the game options it will prompt you asking to save the game now after every hunt. It will also save when you exit the game. I have had autosave disabled ever since I discovered that.
this is what i am looking for. the auto save always annoy me whenever i leave blacksmith, dango shop, market shop, ETC,. yes it can be turn off in setting but i dont like the manual save, and i need the auto save, this mod is very useful. thank you very much ❤👌😍
there's enough of a chance that the game crashes randomly (especially with mods) that you should obviously have it on, but the game deciding "oh you talked to this cat? yeah should save to make sure that doesn't get lost" is pretty dumb, and so, people who wanna have peace of mind knowing they have autosave on, but are pretty tired of waiting constantly in between said auto saves to talk to people, can download this mod

Whoops. Meant to post this as a new reply.

Rename to "Z_Auto_save_Less_Often_Z"

It only has autosave on or off, not a delay between autosaves
