   Does this affect the actual "hitboxes" of the trees, like will orcs register the tree is bigger and go around it or will they treat it like normal and just phase through the part that was increased?

      read the description. Its stated that it doesnt change the hitboxes

      nice to hear. I just uploaded an other mod which increases the other vegetation (bushes, gras, etc.) as well. You might wanna take a look at that :)
