I'll bullet point this to be brief. I'll stick this to prevent repeating myself in the future.
I prefer doing this on my own.
The mod author that done this, re-encoded the videos to Bink 1, which is obsolete but free. This mod uses Bink 2.5, which is used by the game. Offers better visuals for lower bitrate, more CPU cores can be used for decoding (up to 8), and some other Bink 2 exclusive features that contributes to better visuals. Think Bink 1 as moderately compressed H264, and Bink 2.5 as HEVC/VP9, without being so demanding to decode.
This mod also remasters the videos, downscaled to 1080p from 4K, then upscaled to 4K.
Thanks! Do you plan on doing the same thing to Shadow of Mordor? Tried doing myself but the videos end up without sound, but play nice at 4k 60fps in game
Yes, I do plan on doing the same for SoM. Although, it may be a while (or a long time) before I get onto that game.
The only thing that I am hesitant on, is that the game uses Bink 2.3d, which I do not have the encoder of. So, I will have to fall back on to Bink 1, with worse compression algorithm and much larger file size.

Hope that makes sense.Tried doing myself but the videos end up without sound, but play nice at 4k 60fps in game
