Evening, I'm trying to transform the a380 from FSX to MSFS, but I don't have FXS and it appears that the a380 folder doesn't contain an "aircraft.cfg" file, what do I do?
Hi, and great tool so far. Furthermore it's free !
I'v been able to convert some planes but some others have a common problem. Those planes start the engines then they suddently stop. So I wondered which parameter caused that and I found that I have to be carefull with the "Runway"tab. In fact, usually I have to only check for Simvars, Fuelsystem, Controls but for the cases that don't work I may have to select Engine parameters 1,2,3,4 or same with Propeller. But I don't know which one to select. In fact, If I select them all, the plane goes crazy on the runway, uncontrollable. Any Ideas ?
Edit 1 : It seems like that I have to select the correct number of Engine parameters and Propeller according to the number of engines that the aircraft has. For the C-47 for instance, I selected 2. The planes works well now but it took off too early to be realistic. Do I need to change the engine power ?
I've been using Legacy for a long time but this is my first time trying to convert AI aircraft from FSX!
I cannot get them to show up in sim!
I just import, fix the lights and leave everything else (runway file, engine issues etc) (update - have tried also with runway file generated and all issues fixed - no difference)
They are all properly assigned to flightplans in AIFP3 and plans imported into MSFS, and I have traffic on AI offline, generic plane models off, live traffic off.
When I go to my content manager, the aircraft i've imported show up as non installed - if I click on them it just says "waiting"
Hi. I am afraid can't help you with that - AI planes support was never in the requirements list. I can guess you need to configure aircraft.cfg properly, so MSFS will treat them as AI.
Has anyone had an issue with the Legacy converter crashing (shutting off) when trying to import panel gauges (toggle all and hit import panel gauges)? Everything was going perfectly fine until yesterday and now it converts everything but the panel.
Here's what I have tried so far: Deleted the copy of legacy importer 0.25 and downloaded a new copy. Clean the registry and any other HD issues (not any really)
I may try an older Legacy Importer to see if it yields better results. Thanks.
Only reason for that I can guess is "too long path" Windows error. Where you have you community folder, inside of Users directory (default one)? If yes, move "HLM_Packages" into "C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator\" launch the game and choose new location (will take some time for the game to scan files), then try to convert gauges again. If no (or it does not help) - send me file "/panel/.panel.log.txt" by email or discord (links at About tab)
Alex, good day to you and thank you for the response. I will try to transfer the HLM packages to a new location and let you know if that fixes the issue. So far the converter shuts down as I am trying to IMPORT PANEL GAUGES and the panel folder does not have a .txt file. It only has 2 files. 1) .panel.cfg and 2) panel.cfg and both have the exact same data. I have tried multiple aircraft and same issue is happening with both.
I have also downloaded version .24 and same issue.
After some work, I have figured out that it has something to do with my community folder (specifically related to legacy vcockpit instruments folder within community folder). I can transfer the whole model from FSX to Community folder using the importer (v.25) but the importer crashes when I try to import panel gauges.
Now if I transfer everything outside my community folder then all works perfectly.
I can simply transfer everything outside the community folder using the importer and then copy paste the content into the community folder. I just need to learn how to update the layout and manifest .json files in the legacy vcockpit folder.
have you checked sounds folder of the aircraft? if it has callbacks, you need to copy sound data from another aircraft (it may be default one, or another model made by same developer)

main reason for engine problem - missing or wrong CFG parameters. program haven't get updates for a while so problem became worse with time.
Yes, simplest option is decrease engines torque and adjust "drag_scalar" values so it will be possible to reach cruise airspeed.
